Saints 46 Wigan 12. Another convincing win for the saints against the old enemy.

The game was played in torrential rain which saved Wigan from total humiliation. In dry conditions the Saints would have hit the century mark as the pies had no answer to the power and skill of the mighty saints. It is little wonder the pies are having difficulties, with players like the big fat guy who can only muster 15 minutes per game and other has beens littering their side. Basic schoolboy errors litter the wigan game, this allows really good sides to capitalise and pile on the points.

Some sympathy must go to the Wigan players as they only have their supporters rallying them for half the game, for some reason they ( the supporters ) have to leave soon into the second half. Not to worry though the pies have their chance of revenge in the next super league fixture, I am sure they will be looking forward to it immensely.

See you all at KN oh yea dont forget the pies.

As a wigan fan i have to agree with "faithfulsaintsfan", after being reduced to 12 men there was simply no way we were going to be anywhere near saints. At the end of the day it was a stupid tackle and ruined what should have been a great match.

Im sick to death reading all the Wigan fans moaning. It wouldnt of mattered if Wigan had 14 men last night or any other night, Saint still would of won. Hock is never an international player. 1 good offload in 8 attempts just sums up what an idiot the blooke is and how are you going to beat saints without the ball?!
It was a dangerous tackle so was a sending off, simple as that. Its for the players safty more than anything else and shouldnt be lost so wigan can have a chance of giving us a game for a change. The late hit on Gilmour from Mathers should of been ten minutes but he got away with it.
I will say one thing though, The Video Ref had a shocker by not giving a try to wigan when someone "pushed" Meli. Meli's just crap and missed the ball. Stone wall try!
Looking forward to next weeks game against a good team for a change!

I don't think tonight's game will have any bearing on next week's semi!

Leeds are too professional & I fully expect them to win tonight! They are still the best team in SL. They play as a team & when I've seen them I've been impressed by the fact that you could choose 1 from 6 or 7 players to be MOM.

There's not much between Saints & Leeds! I expect the trophies to go to either of these 2 sides

See you at the Galpharm!

I was surprised that Macilorum got a red card - not because he didn;t deserve it (IMO he definitely did) but I've got so used to the copout on report that most refs go for. So well done Klein and lets hope more refs follow his lead (yes even if it involves a Saint - unlikely as we head the FP index of course!)

And Feka!!!! It's wonderful that pies think he is such a great prop - It meant we had to play only 11 men for much of the gamesmiley Can't you find more like him? Whoops maybe you havesmiley

Fingers crossed now for next week cos then we'll have some proper oppositionsmiley

Last night was a perfect example of the Jeckell and Hyde show that is Hock, the guy runs on to the ball with no fear and thats great, but unfortunately can't help but off load every time.
Im not saying he should stop this because his off loads are a major part of what makes him a good player (he set up the first try with an off load)

The point is he needs to learn when to off load and when to just stick with strong running. He will learn and when he does he is a definite choice for smith.

But unfortunately for him
his opposite number Gilmour had an excellent game last night, (at half time he was leading the saints side in tackles, breaks and off loads) and is certainly making a good case for selection at the end of the season to face
the aussies.

MELI COULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR THE PIES WHAT A DONKEY GOT TO GET RID AS RELIABLE AS HOCK .

An early harsh ref decision shattered a big part of wigan's chances.

Don't talk about "the power and skill of the mighty saints" against 12 men for a good 90% of the game really doesn't show that off.

Wet weather limited scoring? Prove it.

Lets say on another day some of the dubious video ref decisions went the other way? 24-46 atleast.

End of the day, hope we meet you in the playoffs. So long as Ganson and Klein stay clear of the game winkeye

yep your right mr hocks not up to international standards as yet. but we need his raw power for gb, so when he comes good. which i have no doubt he will, we will all appreciate him. so for now get off his back.oh and by the way, have checked your spelling its as poor as my teams performance..doh

The comments of aka Jackoz are clutching at straws. On current evidence Wigan can meet Saints any where any time and lose. Wigan no longer possess the playing personnel to justify claims to greatness and consequent success.Klein had a good game and the video ref was right each time. When the wet weather kicked in Saints had already done enough and Wigan had become clueless--witness the two kick through tries--a school team could have provided more determined opposition. Wigan are in steep decline and there is not a remote chance of stopping it.Brian Noble at most will last 12 months.
