Evra Charged in Bridge Brawl!

Premier League Manchester United
comment on the article

The one who instigated the attack should suffer heavily for this and that would be the Chelsea groundsman!

Not being biased, just saying as it is....

I will never condone racist behaviour but there has been no proof given of any kind of racist behaviour and if there had been the player involved could have made a complaint to the police. If any comment was made it was most likely with regard to nationality rather than race and those kind of comments are never deemed racist when aimed at anyone from Britain and never even taken seriously if a complaint is made.

I'm not quite sure why any club should have to specify anything with regard to racist behaviour in a contract. Contracts usually carry provisions for behaviour likely to bring the employer into disrepute. If any offence was proven against the groundsman then it would be covered by this. However, there has been no justification or proof provided to say he acted in a racist manner. Racist comments are illegal and if he was upset by any comments then Evra should have walked away and made a complaint through official channels. However, the whole incident came about as a result of Man Utd players not oberying F.A regualtions regarding their warm down and their reaction to the defeat, as demonstrated by Rio Ferdinand, who escaped any punishment. It is very easy for the Man Utd players to make claims t=like this after the event to get out of the fact that they should have behaved better in the first place and to try and excuse and justify their thuggish behaviour.

Unless the F.A can prove that Chelsea have broken any employment laws, if this were to go to court, they would be onto a loser. Once again the F.A seem to think that the rules of the Football Association supersede the law of the land. Just as Blatter and co think that Football is above European employment law.

If you read the article, it's clear that Chelsea DO have a case to answer, they tried to wriggle out of it by giving the groundsman a way out therefore hoping they could get off the hook. Unfortunately for them the FA have seen through that and are now chasing the club using a different hook.

This can only mean that the FA are convinced Chelsea have a case to answer and they don't appreciate clubs trying to pull 'fast ones' in order to avoid their legal responsibilities via their employees actions.

Bottom line is the FA's legal eagles are cleverer than Chelski's........LOL

Nice try though!

If there was any proof that Bethall made a racist statement, the FA should put it in the hands of the police and CPS. The fact is there isn't and so they haven't.

If anybody fans want to make the accusation, they should provide the proof. They can't, so they resort to the "its clear that" type of allegation that is so popular amongst petty politicians and propagandists.

I could accuse Evra of behaving in a petulant manner having just lost an important game and using the race card as a way of getting of the hook. I am not going to. I don't judge an individual without any evidence whatsoever to back it up.

If the FA had published all the evidence for members of the public to see, then we would be able to make a judgement for ourselves. Its just one more proof that it's time for an end to the FA's deeply suspect, quasi-judicial, behind-closed-doors system that nobody trusts any more.

Have you read the article?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7545289.stm

Apparantly the FA used video evidence to reach the decision to charge!! Surely not? Now just getting it onto the pitch now then eh...!
