Ronaldo Staying

Premier League Manchester United
comment on the article

Here's to a season of an underperforming, unhappy Cristiano Ronaldo.

Here's to the money lost through Manchester United's refusal to sell him this season when demand was highest.

Here's to Manchester United's arrogance, and the start of their decline.

Thelionroared: "I'm so bored of having this discussion with ignorant EPL fans who can't see past the end of their nose."

Then don't! You came to a thread about Ronaldo to argue that United didn't deserve to win their Champions League semi-final. Well guess what? United didn't deserve to lose to Portsmouth in the FA Cup, but I'm not going to go and complain about it in a discussion about Sulley Muntari. Why? Because I'm not that much of a sadcase!

To all those Chelski haters, money driven mongers who didnt know the colour of a trophy until that Russian came along.

To all those who THINK United will be in decline if Ronaldo departs, no player is bigger than MANU, stars have come and gone and trophys have kept on coming.
To all those Chelski fans who really thought they cut the mustard when it came to last season, your team was average all season, the only team I feel sorry for is Arsenal who play sublime football but didnt end up with anything. and if you honestly think you were hard done by in Champs Lge, WE WERE UNBEATEN IN CHAMPS LGE, LET IN LEAST AMOUNT OF GOALS.. that is the sign of TRUE champions.. and you should have been 3-0 down in first half.. You have failed in FA cup, Carling Cup, The league and Champs Lge- shows the resolve of your club and its football.. SO remember the next time you stand up from any seat you sit on

remember to STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND AND THE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!! NUFF SAID

If he wants to go then there is sod all man utd can do about it!

---------------------

That isn't entirely accurate, is it, son? They can turn down any offers and refuse any transfer request. Anyway, for the record: Real haven't made an offer and Ronaldo hasn't handed in a request.

Most recently the man himself has said that wherever he plays he will be motivated: he wants to be the best in the world, nothing will change that.

I wasn't talking about the Barcelona vs Man United match when I said what you quoted me as saying. I was talking about his claim that the EPL is the "hardest league in the world". Something usually only said by people who never watch any games from the other leagues, and are, as a result, ignorant.

So pipe down, sparky.

I think a lot of people are missing the point about Ronaldo's wanting to go to Real. Amongst United fans this has maybe gone largely unnoticed, but Manchester is not all that great a place to live. I'm not saying it's any worse than any other Uk town with the exception of London, but you basically don't find a lot of budget airlines crammed full of people wanting to spend a weekend in Manchester. If I'm a young 20 something male and happen to be able to earn a fortune doing what I love for the best football teams on the planet, someone explain to me what I am doing spending the best years of my life in the cold and rain of Manchester? I've no doubt Ronaldo has some kind of long term ambition to play for Real, but as the best football player on the planet being courted by the most promiscuous club on the planet, I can't see that opportunity disappearing anytime soon; I don't think he's worried about that, I think he's just fed up with going for a drink after a game and having to choose between a limited selection of pubs with packs of whippets in. Has nobody seen Billy Elliot?
