United didn't deserve to lose to Portsmouth in the FA Cup, but I'm not going to go and complain about it in a discussion about Sulley Muntari. Why? Because I'm not that much of a sadcase!"

hearthetruth (U12736726) posted Jul 23, 2008 I think a lot of people are missing the point about Ronaldo's wanting to go to Real. Amongst United fans this has maybe gone largely unnoticed, but Manchester is not all that great a place to live. I'm not saying it's any worse than any other Uk town with the exception of London, but you basically don't find a lot of budget airlines crammed full of people wanting to spend a weekend in Manchester. If I'm a young 20 something male and happen to be able to earn a fortune doing what I love for the best football teams on the planet, someone explain to me what I am doing spending the best years of my life in the cold and rain of Manchester? I've no doubt Ronaldo has some kind of long term ambition to play for Real, but as the best football player on the planet being courted by the most promiscuous club on the planet, I can't see that opportunity disappearing anytime soon; I don't think he's worried about that, I think he's just fed up with going for a drink after a game and having to choose between a limited selection of pubs with packs of whippets in. Has nobody seen Billy Elliot?
