Brian McLean

Pre-Season Motherwell
comment on the article

This guy is not having too much luck!

Starts to get a chance in the side again after Quinn getting injured and after this injury suffered in the friendly he's gonna be out probably for a good bit of the season.

Will McLean ever make it back in the squad as a regular first team player? Or has injury taken away any chance of him doing this?

I think he will get a chance, it will depend whether his injury is limited to his medial ligaments or whether it is cruciate, if it is cruciate he may not be back till well after xmas, hopefully not!

But I have a feeling that we will need some more cover at center half over the course of the season, Kennedy is only gonna be on loan till jan, he will do well to stay clear of injury and Craggs has lost that wee bit of pace that you need playing week in week out!

It's hard to believe a player can suffer such an injury in a friendly match, what is it with these Romanian louts, I bet John Kennedy was cringing watching on from the touchline, Lets hope the injury to Brian is not as serious as suspected, a big loss as cover for the back line, MMG will need to bring in someone now.

Must be devastating for the big man, but he'll come back. I agree about Kennedy, may be more willing now to come on loan here, maybe help Stretch with his recovery.

I think there should be action against the argie player and Cluj. Usually in these circumstances you would expect a public appology from club and player. But there is no remorse what so ever. I know from personel experience, the arrogance that MMG was speaking of,from the Romanians. Worked with quite a few over the past few years and they were all like this, its in their mentality. Just think a wee Euro ban for the player and fine for Unsportsman like conduct from the club slapped on, From UEFA could be in order.

Well, rant over.

Plan B. Get 2 Plane tickets and 2 Tickets for there first Champs league game. Call up Big Boab and Coach, "right lads, we've got a job for you" and let there imagination run wild.

Just a wee idea!

Good idea Wellboy, the Romanians wouldn't know what hit them!

Agree totally lads think we're gonna have to get some cover in for CB. Does anybody know if we have any young players who could maybe do a job in this position?

It might not be ideal but when Reynolds was given his chance he made it his own and has been one of our more consistant players for a while!

Or does anybody have any suggestions what CB McGhee should try and aim for? At least with the promise of European football this season surely it should be helping us attract a quality CB!

We should put in a bid of £1 million for Carlos Cuellar to get back at them for their paltry offer for Reynolds! lol

Who knows... with their biscuit tin apparently rattling with the last few coppers left in the bottom maybe it would be sucessful! laugh

What you have to understand is that Walter beleives footballers are like a good wine - they get better and more valuable with age!

Reynolds is just too young! Had he been 20 years older think old Wattie would have upped the offer!
