well done to Peter Lawell for another great piece of business, and well done to Gordon Strachan ,by the end of August ,the squad will be the best one we've had for many, many years!

Good news...

But you've got to say, very intelligent work by McGeady and his agent. Five years means he'll be 28 when his contract is up, and he'll be moving into his peak. Meaning, provided he keeps up his form, there won't be anything standing in his way if he wants to move to a big club.

That's why, in four years time, we should cash in ok

Difficult to decide who got the better deal here...

McGeady? - 'cos he's not the greatest player but has given himself 5 years security on a bigger wage..well done Son!

Celtic? - who are likely to move him on within 2 years (maybe when WGS moves on having had enough of his 'supporters'), no doubt to a championship side where he will do the usual thing i.e. be in and out of 1st team, hang around for a couple of seasons then come back with tail between legs...maybe to Govan!!

Remember the wunderkid Maloney!??!!

Let's face it, McGeady is good now and then but can fall out of games far too easily, particularly if he comes up against a decent defence e.g. Rangers (I hate to say it)

On balance - good business P Lawell - you'll get a few million quid from a Premier League aspirant within the next 18mths

Mcgeady will never be a great player until he focuses more on being a team player. Great individual "yes" but needs to pass the ball more. Too many times he takes on the oppo only to lose the ball through what can only be described as greed

Have any of you seen McGeady play all year, only 2 players had a decent half against Barca in second round Champions League, that was McDonald and McGeady.
Maloney moved on far too soon to EPL. That was his mistake. Mcgeady needs to be a bit more direct. But he is the only player in Scotland that can go from Box to Box with the ball and that with 2 to 3 defenders round him. Most of season he didnt have support around him.
has improved his teamwork and work rate. Just needs to get a bit more direct and score a few more. has the potential. in 3 years he will move on to EPL or spain.

Everyone together now, any Celtic 'fan' continuing with criticism of the team or Strachan is merely a puppet of the Scottish media or an idiot....not as they may suggest expressing his/her "rightful opinion".
