Tour de France - Stage 11

Tour de France
comment on the article
Cadel Evans

Stage 11 of the Tour takes the riders on a hilly, twisting 167.5km route from Lannemezan to Foix.

Skirting the foothills of the Pyrenees, there's one notable climb - the first-category Col de Portel after 97.5km - so the stage should favour a breakaway rather than a sprint finish.

But then, anything seems possible in this year's Tour.

Will Cadel Evans - the boa constrictor to Riccardo Ricco's cobra - retain the yellow jersey, or will Frank Schleck repeat his monster ride of Hautacam to snatch the lead?

And how about the chances of Denis Menchov, Ricco and Vladimir Efimkin?

Let us know what you think.

Eeh, I guess Ballan didn't quite have the legs on that sprint. tongueout

Great win for KAA.

And now we can wait for the peloton to stroll home.

I could do some more WUMMING if you like to push it through the 100 posts. The black short rule is always good if they're BIB shorts and you've had a couple of pints before going home.

That's farcical Auntie Beeb... You get the techies doing an update at the end of the day's stage... What live gems of sport would we have missed if you had done your update an hour later?

Bravo!

Andy - If you do collect your cards later you could clip them to your grifter with a clothes peg to make that authentic motorbike sound...

Arvesen narrowly won that sprint.
Cadel Evan still overall leader. I think he will remain in yellow jersey for next 3 stages as they are flat stages, unless Schleck decides to attack.

Liebgott - good tip !!
GSGirl .. Bernhard Kohl is Austrian and thus speaks German - what did you mean about his Dutch being funny ?

Half the peloton speaks Dutch really. McEwen's dutch is flawless for example, Zabel is pretty good too.
Kohl spent a year at Rabobank where he learned Dutch, and he gave an interview to Belgian TV which they showed this afternoon. The German accent is unmistakable, but he could answer every question, in Dutch, without many problems. Fairly impressive.
