SAMARAS AND TAMAS

Scottish Premier Celtic
comment on the article

Anyone else a bit underawed by the signing of Samaras? I thought he did OK in his time with us, nothing more, nothing less. What I did think though, was that if he played from the start in 20-30 games through the course of a season, he wouldn't score 15+ goals. Personally we should've been looking elsewhere to really push the first choice pairing.

Any word on the lad Tamas? Hopefully we get him tied up today or tomorrow too, and also bring in a competent left back.

Oh, and morning Champs!

Colin1972, first thing's first, let's deal with Boyd.

Name 1 big game against top class opposition he scored a goal that mattered since he joined Rangers? For that matter, name 1 big game he actually played in for 90 mins?

More to the point, why are you so concerned by what Celtic are doing in the transfer market? Rangers have no creative midfielders in the entire squad whatsoever.....have tried & failed to sign Danny Shittu (Christ, we were linked with that), Davis & Reynolds.......have blown over £6m on dross forwards you don't need.....the list could go on. Laughably Rangers face a season with a midfield trio of Thomson, Dailly & Adam!!! Never mind, there's always big Lee & he wins headers!!

Ta ra mate!! 4 in a row & you know it (don't bottle it up). McGeady's signed a new contract as well, did you know?

I was going to mention the 2-0 win we had over Celtic....would you not call that a big game? dont put your team down like that mate!

If you look back at the history I was responding to a comment left about Boyd.....so truthfully I'm not that concerned by Celtics midfield.....just humoured that someone who scores so many goals in can be criticised.

To respond to McGeady comments...he's a player full of tricks but who definately falls under your catagory of a player who doesn't perform on big occasions!

.....just a pity that a player with such skills doesn't want to play for his country of birth eh?

...like Boyd

biggrin

Or Goram. McCall. Butcher. Brian McLean. whistle

McGeady doesn't do it in big games?

Scoring the winner against Benfica, MOTM against Brazil, drawing praise from Puyol and Ancelotti after playing Barca and Milan. You want any more? ok

Butcher was born in singapore but spent his childhood in England, met his wife in England had an English accent and played for England....he didn't know anything about Singapore so lets not get ridiculous here.

I genuinely wanted Mcgeady to play for Scotland and I just dont get it as the guy has lived in Scotland his whole life and has a Scottish accent.

I'm not saying that its ok for anyone else to do it and its not a slate on Celtic. Its a slate on McGeady fot turning his back on Scotland.....

I understand you might want to stick up for your player but at the end of the day he said he wasn't going to play for Scotland when they were crap and Ireland were good....I wonder what his decision would have been if Scotland had just beaten France???
erm

I don't why I bother with you but here goes.SwedishSteel, nothingto do with HenrikokThe inconvience you suffer will have something to do with your manager not playing him in the BIGokGAMES thus leaving him on the bench as IWWT doesn't rate himokMcGeady has more SPL medals than anyone in your squad and as for not performing in big games, that must be why Celtic offered him this new contractdohBoyd would love just to play in a big game and that doesn't include the 2 diddy cups you won

Colin,

"country of birth" were your words. I'll give you the Butcher one, but no comment on McCall, Goram, or indeed, Gough? Just McGeady that seems a legitimate target for this nonsense?

No-one wanted McGeady to play for Scotland more than me, but he didn't.

THAT WAS HIS CHOICE.

If you do a bit of research, you'll find he was mucked about by Scotland Schools. Hardly surprising he chose another when you consider the incompetent imbeciles running our game.

As I've said before, I don't remeber this outcry when Ray Houghton, Tommy Coyne, Owen Coyle, Brian McLean etc. decided to represent a country other than Scotland.

The level of abuse McGeady gets is sickening, bordering on racism. Actually, it's gone beyond that threshold at times.

Let it go FFS. We live in a democracy where you can make such choices.
