Who will make way for Freddie

International Tests England
comment on the article

Who do you reckon will make way for Freddie in the second test?

Collingwood(bad form)/Broad(plain bad luck)/Sidebottom(back problems)

One of 2 things will happen.
Firstly we play the same team that we have played for the last 6 matches. Collingwood is a good player and was unlucky to be given out in the last match. Personally I hope we stick with this team.
Secondly we bring in the fat waste of space who is without doubt the most over rated cricket on earth. And he either breaks down injured or plays rubbish. Personally I hope we do not pick him again.
He is unprofessional, was a pathetic captain, pathetic vice captain and has done very little through out his career. Dont bother mentioning 2005 because that argument is dead and buried.

He's not fat. He's 6"5. Even when he was overweight, he was only overweight "for a sportsman".

You dismiss the "2005 argument" but give no reason.

Captaincy stuff is irrelevant - he's not coming back in as captain.

"He has done very little throughout his career" - http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/england/content/player/12856.html says it all.

With regard to the "2005" thing, why bring it up when I kindly asked you not to? 606 discussions have killed that subject.
With regard to the capatincy stuff. I was trying to higlight the fact that whilst he was given positions of responsibilty, he always behaves like an imbecile and often lets himself and England down.
The averages you sent are uninteresting.
My opinion, dont want to see him in an england shirt. And I mean that.

You are uninteresting. Please don't respond to this, I am asking you nicely not to.

I personally dont see anybody losing their place to allow for the most overrated player on earth to come into the team. England have become a very good side since fatboy got injured and there is no reason to change anything. Why on earth would we drop any of these current players? Collingwood is a very decent cricketer and if he is the one to be left out, then that surprises me. Keep the side as it is.
I could start going on and on about the wicket keeper, but that debate has run on for many many months so give that lad a few more chances as well.
If its not broken then dont tinker with it. Engand beat a good New Zealand side and are doing nicely against SA as well.

Yes, lets hope Flintoff hits a ton and takes 10 wickets in the match. Then we can all be happy.
------------
Any idea when this last happened? Try and keep it real. If fatboy plays and breaks down, once again he is making life easier for the oppostition. Hes good at that.

Fancy a wager on that?

Nigeweir's just trolling.

This "over-rated" argument doesn't work anyway.

I actually think Flintoff is a bit over-rated. I don't see that as particularly relevant.

Doesn't mean he shouldn't be in the team. How someone is rated by the press or fans is irrelevant.

Is he in the best XI England can put out? Yes. Therefore he plays. It doesn't matter if there are some out there who think he's better than he is.

I agree Flintoff have had bad times recently .
But he is a great player who can add a lot of
confidence to the team . I think we should give him a chance ....But the england team is currently doing well. Its a good side now ....
I think England team management should put in lot of thoughts before
selecting the team ...Team should not loose the balance. .Its not really who is playing . Its about are we going to play the best team .Remember South Africa is a very good side ...Its Headingly .. there will be a result

There's a mile of difference between being good and great. Freddie is great...all the rest are good. Great is what has been missing - great makes things happen on a slow Lords pitch. Broad had flashes of it, but he's a bit young yet and improving all the time. Sibo and Anderson rely heavily on swing - no swing no penetration and so they don't qualify as great yet. Colly has the wobbles and has to go for a period of recovery. Let Colly go. But let Sibo rest too - get Hoggy back and this will fire up both of them to compete for the place.
