India can do what they want.
The ECB can go on all they want about our fans not getting the best from India (its not like many brits go to India anyway)
The ECB should look at its own itineries, almost half of our home tests are played in London, and two thirds of the Twenty20 World Cup matches will be played in London, it's a bit difficult for a man from Stockport to go and see matches (and even more so now that Old Trafford, the best wicket in the country has been harshly dropped as a test venue)
The ECB have no right to complain.

To teach a lesson to the Indian board, England should cancel the tour and play New Zealand again and again and again.

Botham has slammed ECB for scheduling most tests in London (Oval and Lord's have staged about two hundred).

http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/engvrsa/content/story/361407.html

ECB is complaining that India does not follow its tradition of holding tests in only four or five cities! Wonder Botham will now praise India because India is doing what England has failed to do.

Mr.Speaking civilised, "to teach a lesson to the Indian Board." Times have changed buddy.
Wake up. The Indian Board does not need lessons from anybody.

SC

The irony is that it is has now turned into why not Rose Bowl for Tests counter discussion

And why not?

If BCCI can take cricket to Gauhati why can't Eng release the Lords/Oval stranglehold? In India too in the early 90s it was ODIs that broke the five city strong hold

THat has resulted in more players coming from smaller towns, that is something Eng should also welcome

Sanbhalla, Perhaps you missed my sarcasm.

MP, Agree. I see ECB's complaints have boomeranged and biting it. More than two-thirds of the tests have been staged south of Birmingham. Northern regions should fight this discrimination! Maybe another 'Southern Man' song by Neil Young is what is needed.jester

BCCI is the superpower in cricket. Other teams seem to have gone along with its bullying attitude in the past, what is the fuss now? It is the host's choice, not the visiting team. So, play ball!

Hats off to the Indian Cricket Board.
Days have long gone where England " can teach lessons" in Cricket to the Asian countries like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Now its teh time for England to " learn lessons" from these countries. At least how to play Cricket!!
In asia we decide! not the ECB
