Why let Pickering go he is the worst sprinter in britain he is not as fast as Devonish and poeple saying let him go to get experience what would be the point he wont gain any because he wont make it through the heats there are to many world class sprinters out there and i am not being funny or anything but Chambers is and always will be our best chance at a medal in the 100m no one else can touch him. Chambers deserves to go the the olympics in this world if your the best you come first not the second best or fourth the best should always come before second tehy give medals for fourth place do they.

I agree Chambers has the fastest time, but as it stands he is ineligible. Regardless if he ran 9.6 he still is ineligible. If the law stands whether people agree or not that will be that and in a few months no-one will even worry about Chambers (except his agent and PR people)

Its getting to the point that nobody seems to care about cheating and what that means.Do you really think a two year ban is sufficient. The majority of clean pros and ex pro's dont seem to think so and neither did the BOA which is why they created the lifetime Olympics ban.Dwain knew categorically the consequences of his actions when he embarked on blatent pre-meditated cheating. This happened over a number of years and so was not some kind of spur of the moment mistake.People keep saying, 'well at least he owned up to it' - yes after he was caught and the whole Balco scandal materialised and knew he would be named and shamed anyway. The plain facts are that he knew the rules, he blatently and pre-meditatedley broke them and should now face up to the punishment he knew he would receive.Any failure in this action would result in a complete lack of confidence not just in Athletics but in the usual European cacky justice system that we have had to take on board in recent years

Regardless of Chambers running or not, if the courts allow someone to compete by overruling the by-laws of the British Olympic Association, then the Association may as well tear-up their rule book, and allow anyone to compete on their own terms. Surely an organization (or an individual) can set their own rules of behaviour, and if one doesn't accept them then it is one's hard luck. Can I get the courts to overrule the BBC terms and conditions of posting on this site, to post any comment I see fit? I don't think so!!!

Whether the Rules are disproporitonate or not, they are still the rules and shouldn't be changed just becuase someone is very good at what they do. If this guy didnt have chance of diong well at the olymics then no one would care. You can't bend the rules for good.

RedDevilHornetTommy makes a good point- Have we ever had tis groundswell of protest about the banning from Olympics of Carl Myerscough? We haven't. And why? because he never had a chance of winning.

I know very little about athletics but think the treatment of Chambers by fellow athletes is extremely harsh. The same team that welcomes back Christine Ohuruogu with open arms.

The lesson to be learned here is not 'Don't take drugs', just 'Avoid getting caught'.
