New club record signing ?

Premier League Hull City
comment on the article

According to the Mirror(yes, I know), Davis is on his way for a club record £2.25m. If this is true, either there is a problem with the Boateng deal, or Ash just dropped to the bench !

or maybe a 5 man midfield with Ash as the holding, don't believe Brownie will demote the heart of our midfield to bench warming duties

It's expensive - but Ash needs to be under pressure.

He has risen to the challenge following each promotion so far, and deserves the chance to do so again. But if he doesn't make the grade - we need someone of premiership quality to replace him. Sooner rather than later should he not achieve the level this time.

I think you should sign Davis. Portsmouth don't need him if I'm honest. I think Hull are making good signings. They might escape relegation if they continue this trend.

Might I recommend you sign someone from the Championship, like Marcus Bent or James Beattie? They might turn out to be good buys. Don't forget to raid Reading for some talent, too - you can get Nicky Shorey if you bid enough! :D

Im not a Hull fan but if i was id be really encouraged. When they won promotion i thought they would just have a token season in the epl and sink for another 30 or 40 years but these signings are showing a real intent by Phil Brown for Hull to thrive in th premier league. I hope both Hull and Stoke stay up but i cant realistically see Stoke doing so at this time. With Hull however, i can.

As a neutral as far as Hull are concerned, I like some of the moves and proposed moves Brown is doing. You don't want to replace the team as a whole, but bringing in some key, experienced figures like Boateng, rocha, etc might keep you in the top flight.

Good luck!

I'm a portsmouth fan but can't help but feel concerned for hull,, i honestly can't see them doing very well in this league. They're signing players made surplus to requirements at their current club. One of their most influential players last season, frazier campbell, has gone back to United and i can see hull becoming another derby of last season. i wish hull all the best though
