I love toon fans! u talk the biggest load of #~*t in the world! Good enough for bolton, but not newcastle? OMG! Who do you think you are, wat have you done/won! And you seem to rip off viduka, owen, butt, duff! its funny how all these players did fantastic at there old clubs! yet at newcastle there poooooo! try keeping your managers for over 33 seconds and you may have a chance of 10th place!

Just for the record, guthrie isnt yet good enough for bolton or newcastles first teams. He still needs alot of physical "bringing on" however he will get there, but will be no better than a Bowyer. Gud luck to the lad tho!

Comon toon fans! i love newcastle! and evrythin in ur city! i have family up there!

But the sooner you realise you wont do n e thin without a bit of continuity the better!!

Guthrie is terrible.

He's probbaly good enough for a lower mid-table side like Boro or Toon.

But for clubs like Bolton and Tottenham he's not good enough.

The fact is we have Owen and Martins and we cant afford to accomodate any more players with their kind of status. The people who come in are going to be similar to Guthrie and Guitierrez.

At least these are young guys with something to prove who want to impress. Signing so supposedly established international stars like Duff and Smith has got us nowhere.

Funny that, didn't we just finish above them? and Guthrie was one of Bolton's best players last season. look beyond your nose and see the bigger picture, you load of gloom merchants

Calm down, guys. The fact that we aren't hearing anything doesn't mean things aren't happening.

Mike Asley likes to keep things under wraps, then move, when he's ready. That was how he was able to pull the rug from under Fat Freddy's feet, in the first place.

As regards Guthrie, if you think about it, some of our most successful signings, down the years, were not exactly household names. Think Solano, Killer Kilcline, Rob Lee, and even, (for the oldies) John Tudor. Then compare that with some of the more high profile signings like Duff, Smith, Kluivert, (un)Luque, Marcelino etc., and you should get my drift.

Hope for the best, but expect the worst, and you'll never be disappointed!

Keep the faith.

The standard of spelling and grammar on this debate is appalling.

I think Danny will be a good signing for Newcastle! I saw him play last year in an average Bolton team and he defo looked like one for the future! Its about time NUFC signed this type of player, I mean its not like he will be are biggest signing of the summer but I predict one of our shrewdest!!

Oh and Newcastle are a far bigger team than Bolton....I mean come on get real, Bolton are going down down down!!!

I saw Guthrie play for Bolton last season at Old Trafford, and for me the boy stood out. A tricky player with lots of skill and in my opinion the type of player that the Geordie masses will love to watch. I've got him in my fantasy team and after scoring and setting up goals for the Toon at Hartlepool let's hope he has a great season.

Standards of grammar? Yes miss but please keep to the subject. Let's give the kid Guthrie a chance we've hardly kicked a ball yet.
