Masterclass

International Tests England
comment on the article

SA have been given a masterclass today. They came here all talk of a mean fast bowling attack,,,looked more like military medium to me. They all look fat, slow in the field, bad bowling plans, wouldve been 300-0 had it not been for a bad umpiring decision triggering a mini collapse. Step forward KP, the saffers had the good sense not to wind him up this time, didn't make much difference, even bell could reach 75 against a ridiculously over rated bowling attack. Wait til sidebottom and monty get stuck into them. 4-0 in the series my prediction. I don't think england are best in the world, just think SA are a bit full of themselves and need to get their heads down if they are going to get a result in any of the forthcoming tests.

Always seems to happen to the man under pressure, doesn't it?

Martin.. ashes 05
Strauss.. ashes 06/07

I feel sorry for Colly.... usually what follows is a run of poor decisions, culminating in being dropped.

A very interesting comparison given that 606ers jury still apparently out on MC as they are always on Bell. A coming-of-age knock from Bell if he can get over both his own disappointment missing the double and Harper's completely unprofessional mickey-taking. Fair play to Bowden for letting his feelings be known.

AndieRae,

'Harper's completely unprofessional mickey-taking. Fair play to Bowden for letting his feelings be known.'

What is all this about? I hadn't heard!

Bell was on 197 I think and the ball shoots off for leg-byes. As a batter, you love to get em and on 197 for six and half weeks you'll take em. Harper waits an eternity before he cruelly smiles at Bell and signals leg byes. Bowden understood immediately and gave Harper such a dirty look.

Right,

He got another leg bye straight after as well didn't he?

Who was it gave Harper a nudge, to make him lose balance, whilst signalling leg byes earlier in the game?

laugh

I don't think so, although it would be nice if it was. One of the Saffers, I think.... maybe Harper didn't know or couldn't tell!!!

A bit like most of his decisions over the last couple of years winkeye
