It seems QPR’s bid to end the Kaspars Gorkss fiasco has run into more problems.

An exchange deal involving Danny Nardiello and Adam Bolder looked like offering a way out for all parties, but it appears to have stalled.

Blackpool now plan to order Gorkss to return to training with them after he was initially left out of their pre-season preparations.

For those who’ve been living underground for the last few weeks, Gorkss has a clause in his Blackpool contract enabling him to move for £250,000.

But they claim QPR agreed personal terms with the player before tabling an official bid and have reported the club to the Football League for an alleged illegal approach.

Rangers still expect to sign him and attempted to mend bridges by lining up Nardiello and possibly Bolder for moves to Blackpool as part of the deal.

Nardiello is keen to move on after being told he will be fourth-choice striker this season.

But he has a year of his Rangers contract left to run and has failed to reach a financial settlement with the club.

That’s put his future and Gorkss’ transfer in doubt.

Bolder is in a similar situation and there have also been complications with his proposed move.

I’m sure Gorkss will be a QPR player one way or another and there were more talks this afternoon to try and push through that swap deal.

Nardiello will definitely go to Blackpool if an agreement can be reached, and although Bolder is under no pressure to leave Rangers it is difficult to see how his interests would not be served by moving on.

But unless a compromise can be reached soon, the fight over Gorkss looks like going the distance.

It's a shame that this episode has soured relations between the clubs.

Many will remember the three battles they had in the 1990 FA Cup fifth round, which went to a second replay before Rangers eventually progressed to the quarter-finals.

There was a genuine rapport between the two sets of supporters and I know many QPR fans remember Blackpool fondly as a result.
