New strikerPremier League Liverpool by NutsAboutPool (U12493338) 08 July 2008 With the pending departure of Crouch, it is clear Liverpool are going to need to replace him and it is likely Rafa has someone in mind. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Keane will be a better choice - can hold his own and is unselfish at the right times, perfect foil for Torres in prem. BArry and Keane could be the missing links for premiership - with Degen + Dossena, its quite positive, maybe a real right winger may be all thats needed next

Terrorres (U2760096) posted Jul 10, 2008 Rafa has just confirmed what I said yesterday, he was just dropping names...someone has argued that Keane is getting on and is inconsistent, but I note that he is a spurs supporter so I guess he would never want to see Keane leave the Lane...What worries me is buying Keane for 15M+ and playing him effectively for three seasons or so, when we can get two supporting strikers from South America with the same amount. One weakness I've noticed with Rafa is his dithering when it comes to transitioning players from the reserve to the first team. Granted that he has experimented with a few but LFC has one of the best reserve squads in Europe, made up of youth and talent and I believe it’s high time Rafa took a risk on someone like Nemeth. Keane however would be an ideal partner for Torres but would struggle to carry the team on his own should Torres get injured. I believe we need two strikers, one out and out like Torres, one versatile like Robbie Keane, and let's not forget Ryan is still developing…As for Barry, I don’t think he’s worth the trouble unless we want to make convert of Villains and sell them shirts. We have Alonzo, Lucas, Guthrie, Hammill and a plethora of other midfield talent that is not being properly deployed. Look at Arsenal, we criticize their belief in developing youth but look at the caliber and number of clubs who want their so called inexperienced players…

Les_The_Scouse_Red (U11945294) posted Jul 11, 2008 Robbie Keane is not the man for Liverpool! What we need and the ideal striker to play with El Nino is a big tall target man - oh didn't we just sell one of those? I trust Raffa after all he is a proffesional manager I am not but I can't see the logic.

Jonaldo - like me knows, pals, (U8369279) posted Jul 11, 2008 I would also say that if Rafa wasn't so short sighted, that Peter Crouch could easily be the perfect partner for Torres rather than spending £20m on another partner for him.

alexprideoflondon (U10810430) posted Jul 11, 2008 robbie keane and torres upfront would be frightening. If they got robbie keane and a midfielder and a centre back like ramos someone like that they would be title contenders i think arsenal will struggle this season and maybe even utd if ronldo leaves becuase if you take away his goals they would not have won anything this season its a fact champions legaue final he scored if he didnt chelsea win 1-0 many goals has he scored to make draws wins and loses draws.liverpool XI
