Srilanka replacing Zimbabwe in England 2009International Tests Sri Lanka by DaWatfordBoy (U3974967) 08 July 2008 I am not sure if Srilanka have done the right thing here filling the gap for Zimbabwe in England. BBC report says England Cricket Board has built a decent relationship with Srilanka Cricket but I am not totally convinced that they should have accepted another ridiculous two test match series offer. third_umpire (U8114468) posted Jul 13, 2008 Itfs not a preplan tour anyway. Itfs just to fill the gap created by stubborn ECB by not allowing Zimbabwe to tour. Sri Lanka is like a spare wheel. In this case IPL should be a priority for the players.

DaWatfordBoy (U3974967) posted Jul 13, 2008 England may a good place to play cricket, but it's not all that good to be playing second fiddle to England. I reckon Srilanka have in their disposal probably for the first time in their short cricket history the chance to tell ECB "Hang on a second, we have plans for our players during this time, our schedule is packed, and also some players might need a bit of a rest", either we are not touring or we are getting our youngsters to get some exposure in England.
