Cav interview

comment on the article

now i don't have anything against mark cavendish but what about the attempted interview with him after yesterdays stage. why do these guys (that many young riders looks up to as idols) have to be so totally and utterly arrogant.
if it wasn't for the media drawing publicity to these riders they would be nothing. if i was involved with the media i wouldn't go near cavendish from now on, particularly when he wins his first stage and is crying out for tv cameras and microphones.
so come on Cav, watch last nights recording of yourself and see how pathetic it looks.

I'm not being funny but most talented sportsperson come across as arrogant. That is how you get to the top in sport, by being arrogant and believing in your own talent, not by being the nice guy.

We get someone who has the potential to do something amazing on the world stage and he gets crucified for being arrogant and cocky, no wonder we put up with being second best. No coincidence Lewis Hamilton got the exact same accusations either yet he seems to be doing alright for himself.

no - that is mark cavendish. morning, noon or night i think that interview pretty much encapsulated the guy.

but as CC says, lets put apparent arrogance to one side, and call it "winning attitude" - this may take Brits quite some time though.....

don't dispute he's talented but there's no excuse for ignorance. thats the job he's in so he has to deal with the media.
we'll see if he can scramble a few words together after a stage win winkeye

maybe the interviewer could turn the tables in the event of a stage win for him.

rendell - " well Mark, we learnt nothing new from watching you sprint today to your maiden tour stage victory, so i'm off to speak to someone more important - like the green jersey wearer, who clearly isn't you".

ain't going to happen - but i would LMFHO

anyone know where i can see this interview online? Didn't see it yesterday.

To get to the top you need a bit of arrogance; Cav seems to have it in abundance. Good on him.

just got to bear in mind he hadn't even stopped at end of stage - and in all honesty the interviewer just wasn't taking the hint was he?? - thought it was a classic

He seemed to be in a better mood after the TT yesterday, I'll have to watch the highlights tonight to see if his loquacity quotient has increased... biggrin
