Tour de France....it's wide open !

Only 3 days in and already there's gaps appearing with the fancied riders, Soler virtually no chance and today Menchov and Ricco losing time on a stage they should not !

I still dont understand the bookies minds in shorting both Cadel and Valverde odds even further unless they think there is slightly less competition after the mishaps of other fancied runners.

I still think it's the most wide open for over 10 years so why is Cadel evans just a 7/4 shot with most bookies ?

He's probably prove me wrong and win it !

It's far too open a tour for odds like that. Evans has the physical ability but I'm not convinced he can take the initiative enough to win overall.

I don't think that the 30 seconds lost by Menchov and Ricco yesterday will prove that significant in the grand scheme of things (although obviously they won't want to be caught behind another split like that in the next few days). Had they been with Moreau and lost a couple of minutes then it may have been a different story.

Ricco drifted out to 500/1 again briefly today before coming back into 100/1, these layers dont arf take risks on the basis of a time trial stage, anything can happen in the mountains and now Cadel's odds is even shorter
after his good time trial.

Well Valverde is the first fancied runner to run into problems and his odds have doubled, if Cadel comes a cropper you could end up 8/1 the field by the time they hit the moutains !

I don't understand why Cadel's odds are so low. For anyone to win a Tour de France - especially their first one, 7-4 is terrible odds.
