Yorkshire could be thrown out of comp for fielding Rafiq a Pakistan born player who played against Nottts but may not have the right paperwork to be eligable!

I did not know that, and thats never been mentioned on TV either.

The right verdict I think , but I still don`t think that the ECB are being totally honest about when they found out.
Martyn Moxen said the ECB had been in touch before he travelled down to Essex last Friday.

No complaints from this Yorkshireman on the verdict, the blame lies with Yorks CCC.

Baz,

The ECB also stated that they had informed Yorks of the lads overseas status back in 2007

That'll be why they tried to backdate the registration, only to find out about his overseas status on the morning of the QF

I have this empty crock.... can anyone suggest what the ECB might fill it with?

I have no truck with Yorks... genuine mistake imo

I have no truck with Notts.... congratulations.. although I can't possibly wish you well... obviously

But the ECB??????

What a shower. this could have been sorted out in the 10 days between group match and QF and then Durham would be okay, match played, 7-8000 lots of 12 or 15 pound notes in the pocket, fair result... may the best team win.

But hey, their own select committee found that the ECB were utterly blameless..... must just be me then steam

I can't see how Yorks can't take the ECB to the cleaners here.

Clear precedent has been set. Should go for the appeal and if that fails sue the backsides off the ECB.

At the end of the day, yorkshire failed to register a lad who has been with them for 8 years. Did they not think he was ever gunna play first team cricket for Gods sake.
It`s typical of way Yorkshire run things.
I can jus see it know " Ethyl, when you have made the tea and hoovered up, just take a peek at that plie of registration forms and see if owt needs signing"

ECB and Yorks CCC, seperated at birth.

Borset,

I believe that Yorks will decide tomorrow on whether to appeal or not.

If they do and it goes to court..... it would appear that there are some judges with strong affiliations to Lancashire to whom they could appeal winkeye

So this is what has become of our proud sport under sloggathon rules.

It shows why the longer form of the game is the more respected.

Well, i`m heading off down to Kent in the early hours to lend my support to the White Rose cause and maybe vent my frustration on a suit who looks like he`s from YCCC.

Why were Durham in attendance at the hearing, the playing of Rafiq had nothing all to do with them.
I wonder what opinion they gave to the ECB.

Can you imagine if this debacle had affected the playing of the final, the knives would well and truly have been out.

Baz,

'Why were Durham in attendance at the hearing, the playing of Rafiq had nothing all to do with them.'

because they were asked to attend! what would you have them do... say "no thanks none of this has anything to do with us?"
