I am also curios to know why the Asia Cup Final article is shown small on the side whereas SA tour match against a county team occupies the large headline spot?????????????

This is not the first time i have seen SL use this tactic to win crunch games.
I remember the mini WC in Colombo when Australia played SL in the semi-final. SL set a total and Aussie openers Hayden and Gilchrist went guns blazing at the fast bowlers. SL introduced spinner Aravinda DeSilva who got Hayden bowled in his first over. Aus then lost wickets regularly and lost the game!

Yes, very disappointed on the BBC coverage (or lack of it) and summary mention of Mendis' feat - he was both man of the man and the series !! Probably the BBC did not know what to make of him !

Excellent stuff! from Mendis. Even if India had gone with 11 batsmen it was impossible for them to win. When India took the first 4 wickets, look at the great Jayasurya at the age of 39 counter attacked the Indian pace batteries. He is a class act no doubt about that. First of all I don’t agree even in the paper that India has got the famed batting line-up in one day games and I don’t like comparisons either but players like Rohit, Uthappa, Raina, YK Pathan are the replacements for Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid but I don’t think so. These lads are no where near of those who played at the age of 20’s. I am not against of youngsters but any team needs a couple of seniors to guide during difficult situations.

Ajanth mendis's 6-13 reminded me of Anil Kumble,s 6-12 against west Indies in Hero cup. Lets preserve this ASIN spinner from trouble time the way his country man Muralidharan faced. His action is pretty clear and non-asian countries specially australia need to do a great deal of work to find problem with his action, if they found anything.

I am an Indian but I like watching him in Final and performing against arguably worlds greatest batting line (need to include sachin).
It will be interesting to see the fight of Indian icon like sachin, dravid and ganguly in test series.

Best of luck to mendis for his future success.

Vivek
