Premier League Liverpool

I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on how much Rafa has been given at the start of this window?I was thinking maybe 15 to 25 mill? with maybe a policy of 5-10 mill for a player thats worth it? the numbers at the moment are:

INCOME: Riise-4 million
Harry Kewell's wage budget as well ( dunno how much that would free up?)
Probably Xabi Alonso - 16 million?
Reports of income in daily mirror and mail: peter crouch soon joining portsmouth for 10 mill

INCOME Total : 30 million plus kewell, alonso, crouch and riise's wages gone

EXPENDITURE: Degan-free bar wages
Dossena- 7 million
Probably Barry : 18 million or 15 mill plus finnan depending on contrasting reports
Possibly Diego Calavieri-3 million?
also after being reminded of Mascherano - £20 mill
and stadium costs

Expenditure total: depending on barry deal = 25-28 mill

what I wanna know is where the possible cash for reported targets Keane (I hope he comes), Villa, Silva or Riera (hope he doesnt come lol) coming from?

thoughts please

part of the refinancing deal was 45m for transfers. Masch and Skrtel were 25m and we sold sissoko for 10m so i reckon we have about 30m plus sales.

If we get: Riise- 4m, Finnan- 3m, Crouch- 10m, Alonso-16m (although its more unlikely now) we make 33m giving us 63m to spend.

We buy Degen- free, Dossena- 7m, Barry- 16m, Keane- 18m and Silva- 22m. This is what i think would be great and isnt completely out of the question but as mentioned above the stadium may drain funds and we may get out bid etc

Not a Liverpool fan but...

why is afa spending money buying Barry, when you have Alonso who, in my humble opinion, is better and more suited to your style?

6+5 is probably one of the bigger reasons. I think Alonso's clearly better as well. But he gets injured a fair amount.

anyone think a expensive striker is actually necessary for Rafa's current system?

whisper it quietly, but I think that next season will be between Liverpool and United...

I don't think Sclolari is all that and Arsenal clearly have no money.

a few good signings by the 'pool and the battle will be back where it belongs, fought to the death in north west.

I reckon you'll get one big signing, that Rafa will surprise on you towards the end of Ausgust.

I doubt Rafa has a "budget" as such. That's not the way people like G&H work and it's certainly not the way Parry works. I suspect each purchase and sale has to be justified on its own merits.

Convince "the man" that a £25m player is part of a solid strategy to win the league and/or increase shirt sales by n% per year, you'll get your £25m, but your job will be on the line if you over-sell what the player can bring.

I don't think Sclolari is all that

Nor was Grant, and he still did better than Liverpool.

rossidiavolo if you actually take into account the players Rafa has sold each year it works out that he has spent between £15-20 million a year net. You have to also take into account that Liverpool got £21 million from the Champions League and ~£45 million from the English Premier League. One of the main problems you don't see many players coming into Liverpool is because Parry is in charge of acquiring them an the one word you wouldn't use to describe him is dynamic!

The money from Crouch, Itandje, Riise and LeTallec will cover the cost of bringing Keane to the club. Stoke want Carson so there will be several million. After that it just depends on who Rafa REALLY wants to bring to the club, not this wild speculation.
