European Open

comment on the article

As we head into the final round of the European Open, Ross Fisher looks on course for his second European Tour victory.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/gol...

In tricky conditions, the Englishman put in a solid performance and was the only man to birdie the 18th.

Graeme McDowell is Fisher's nearest challenger on 13 under, while South Africa's David Frost is third on 10 under.

Colin Montgomerie continued to make the headlines at The London Club for the wrong reasons.

The Scot bogeyed the last three holes, pulling his drive into the lake on the last, to finish nine strokes behind in joint 10th.

"I'm not the story - I think you'll find I'm not the story," said the Scot, who threw his ball into a dustbin at the end of the round. What are your thoughts on Montogmerie's behaviour?

Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia shot a disappointing 74 to finish the day on seven under. What did you make of the Spaniard's performance? Can he win the Open Championship?

As always, we would love to hear your thoughts.

Montgomerie is an absolute disgrace and should be banned. However no one in authority seems to have the balls to discipline the obnoxious creature. Give me the job and i will do it.

Big day for Fisher and McDowell. Both have a lot to prove and even more to gain.

And intriguing pairings:

Garrido and Garcia
Harrington and Montgomerie

GJaussie,
I picked Fisher in the wolf's Fantasy so have to go for him. But I just hope both play well.

And Nick O'Hern has himself in good position at Congressional, Allenby too, but Pampling must be disappointed with his effort today.

Sorry "therunt" but I dont think I will be going anywhere soon.

I was just thinking about something... You havent actually won an event this year. How you feeling about that?

For an expert like yourself that must be hard to take. You may be a head in the order of merit, but if you asked a tour player, "What would you rather, come top 10 all season and win diddly or have an tour title to your name?"

Im pretty sure I know what they'd be going with smiley
