This weeks rumours of Harry Kewell signing for Galataseray took me back to when we signed him, i was so excited i thought we bagged a cracker.

I turned out to be wrong and it took a few years for me to finally give up on him.I am from belfast so dont grt to see many games, but my first match was the derby at goodison (aged 16)when Kewell scored his first goal for the club, ever since then my opininon of him as a player and person gradually fell.

I wish him luck for the future but i think he is motivated more by 'the life' than football

Leeds fans - you do yourselves no favours shedding the 'brainless numpty' tag! And you wonder why everyone hates you? Why give Kewell a hard time when he left Elland Rd all those years ago? And he left for a reason - you couldn't afford his wages and needed the transfer fee to keep the creditors away. He's gone to Galatasary knowing he'll get Champions League football, a regular place and a decent wage for the next few years- do you think anyone in this country would have been foolish enough to pay money for a player who spends more time on the treatment table than Anderton, Van Persie and Gary Neville combined! Not a prayer. He's hoping the climate will protect him from excessive injuries, he's hoping the fewer games and lesser opposition will flatter his game - you can't blame him for giving it a go...

Kewell's move to Galatasaray stops him from being in our squad for the Olympics because it's a new team and with his injury record, they definitely wouldn't want him to be playing in the Olympics just after they've signed him.

I disagree with all the comments about Kewell being money-hungry. Yes, he's gone to a club which has a bad relationship with Leeds, but all the people saying he wants money seem to just be saying that because he didn't want to stay in the Premier League unless he got a new Liverpool contract. He was injured for a few years so obviously isn't rated as highly, but how does going to the Turkish league over a mid-table EPL side or the SPL make him the person you're making him out to be?

Feels like a cleansing at Liverpool with all these "surplus to requirements" players being shipped out. However, surplus implies that there are more than enough good enough players...where are these new replacement signings so far? A second rate defender, and acrimonious battles for overrated players.

The season starts in less than two months...still sufficent time for some juicy signings, but I have my doubts as it stands.

i think this shows kewell to be the direspectful, arrogant and lacking in morals player that he has always been. he's not alone, so many players are like this these days.
he has shown no gratitude to leeds for bringing him to england as a 14 year old from australia and then gave him a great start to a career which has gone downhill since he left.
also, no respect for INNOCENT leeds fans who were killed by galatasary fans who are now called "great and passionate" by kewell.
i hope he has a nightamre time there and i just hope he sleeps well at night not realising what a disrespectful footballer he is!!!

Buying Kewell is like buying an old second hand car that keeps breaking down.I think he is well past his best days at Leeds and did nothing at Anfield but sponge his wages. No doubt Galatasaray are paying him silly money and more fool them.He is like most overpaid footballers these days, who think they are better than they are and believe everything thats written about them on the back of the 'Sun'.As for showing 'loyalty' or 'respect' to Leeds, I would imagine that these are ethics that Kewell has in short supply.

Kewell and Galatasaray are a perfect fit. Can't wait to see their so called fans, animals in my book, turn on him when he doesn't produce. Expect to see him claim he never wanted to leave the premiership in the first place when it all goes pete tong and join someone like West Ham.
