Federer - King Of Grass Court

Disappointing for us federer fans, we know he should have had set 2 but let him right off the hook with unforced errors, bad serves, bottled break points....it is not looking good

GAME ON PEOPLE!

It doesn't matter what happens now, 65 consecutive wins on grass, 5 wimbledon titles in a row, 12 titles and 3 french open finals means Federer is the greatest player of all time overall and the grass surface king.

He has not dropped a set this tournament and his serve looks unstoppable.

WELL DONE ROGER FEDERER

What a final we have in store!

Roger should take this one in 4, but Nadal for the first time seems to be a real force on grass and could definately win. Roger's serve should prove very decisive as nadal looks like he can be broke whereas Federer seems almost untouchable. That is the real edge federer has not taking into account he has nearly every trick in the book. Nadal on other hand has a brute force baseline game which is second to none.

Roger may be feeling the pressure after his defeats to nadal but Nadal knows this is not his surface. Both will have to fight mental as well as physical barriers to lift the trophy

Great tennis ahead - Do the business Roger!

Hoodbhoy and all Fed fans my sincere commiserations... I really mean that. My lad has a real fight on his hands.. and it was a match that deserved two winners.. indeed the best final that any true tennis fan could have wished for. I know how bitterly disappointed RF must be and his fans too. To be honest I really thought Rafa had thrown his chances and that Fed was going to pull it out of the bag. There came a point when I found it too hard to watch.. but Im glad I did. Rafa wanted it so badly and as I say I am so happy for him. Cheers to all

Our King will return. He will be angered and motivated. This will prove just how big a champion he is.

some real stalkers on these threads(how can a thread get). sf... whatever - grand slam snobbery it would seem - you forgot all wins in a year so get off the soap box.

Great final, cracking. Congrats to Nadal and commiserations to Federer. Hoping for more of the same.

Deecoco

Fairplay to Rafa. The way the guy played against a grass specialist was just unbelievable I must say . You called it all along. I however agreed with you that Rafa would provide roger a tough fight but I though Fed would have enough weapons to pull through.
The most imp weapon at that level unfortunately roger did not have. Mental toughness. Or what is it that rafa did not allow him that. But when roger made it two sets all.. I really thought fed would ha ve enough to pull it through
Because I will be honest I gave up on him when he went down two sets to love. When he came back to make it two sets all I was pleasantly surprised shocked actually.
Unfortunately I began to watch the match again from that point on. Big mistake. YOu could see it coming. Roger with the supposedly better serve had to fight on average two break points each game in the end though could not managae that. Whereas rafe was holding his serve easily.
I dont care if rafa acknoledges fed as the best in tennis history. his words not mine. In mhy mind at the moment he is not. Only because of one player though nadal. All the rest he hammers . Against nadal he just cannot
These lefties what do they have that leaves you dumbfounded. IN real like too when i was much younger I faced this one leftie raza who posed a huge problem righties i thrashed this guy though got under my skin everytine. Fortunately though had a better record than what roger currently manages.

This poses many more questions. WHat will happen to roger now? Can he bounce back here deecoco? i THINK The us open will prove alot of stuff . What do you think deecoco? What your is opinion on fed and the usopen. Safe to say nadal will be in the form of his life both mentally and physcially in the us open. I would have hated roger after this final the fact that he made it two sets all cushions his loss to some degree
