comment on the article

Im booked up for a weekend in Paris when the tour finishes and cant wait to see this stage.

However does anyone know just how many 'laps' they do of the famous champs elysees before crossing the finish line?

not so sure usually 5 or 6 - I think. Was there in 1987 - great atmosphere - get there early and once you've selected your spot - don't expect to move for hours.

Enjoy - I'm sooooo jealous

however many they do its a long time to be standing until the end. i bought myself a cheap little two step stepladder from a hardware store and took it along (threw it away when i left). found myself a great place in front of a tree and when they came along stepped on up and could see all the action over everyone's heads. also had a great spot for the podium as well as the big screen so you could watch them along the route. get there early if you want a decent spot - i was there from 8am. a very long day and my back was broken by the end of it but it was so worth it. got to see LA win his 6th.
