Zheng Jie

Well done in reaching the semis. So pleased for her as I've followed her matches all through the tournament. I just wish the commentators, Virginia Wade in particular, would give her the credit she fully deserves. She hasn't got through to the semis on a fluke. She's done it by outplaying her opponents and did it again today by dispatching Vaidisova.

Maybe Serena Williams will be a bridge too far but nothing would surprise me the way Zheng Jie's played this tournament. Just so pleased for her, especially after coming back from a year out through injury.

So Zheng's remarkable run ends in the semis. Although it was a shame Zheng couldn't take it to a third set against Serena she has done herself and her country proud.

Good for Zheng that thanks to reaching the semis at Wimbledon when the new rankings come out next week she will be ranked in the 40's. On top of that she is going to donate her winnings to the disaster fund in China. Just a classy woman all round.

Those calling her a bottler should be ashamed. She is anything but.

I hope that all those posters who say they won't turn on the telly if there is an all-Williams final, will also do us a favour and stay off 606 during that time too!

I think we'll see a lot more of Zheng in the future....

I think it would be the best final in ages. Juss think abahrt it, they will ave to use tactics cos there raw power will cancel each other ahrt n it will all boil dahn to movement on the court and angled returns. I reckon iss goin to be interestin to wot ideas the two tennis goddesses ave.

Wass that got to do with it n why can't they both play. You can't dictate who can and can't play on ere.

Actuall when the sisters play the game is very competitive, and high quality.
So let them play if they are the best two on grass.

I never believed there were "team orders" in the past or now.

A journalist yesterday asked Serena about her thoughts on her sister being favourite for the title. If looks could kill the stupid journalist who asked this question would have expired on the spot! She told him pure and simple that she was insulted to be asked such a question since she herself is still in the draw. Despite the fact her sister was still in the tournament Serena said she always considers herself the favourite.

If they both get there I do believe we will see a great final. The biggest let down with the women's finals in recent years is we haven't had the two finalists performing at the top of their game at the same time. That's what bothers me more than anything rather than worrying about whether there are two sisters facing each other.

Well there's no evidence they won't be playin at the top of their game is they n as someone else as said iss always very competitive when them 2 play. If Venus wins less ope the Beeb play the Bananarama 'Venus' song.

Great run by Zheng who was a little overawed and over powered today. Pity she didnt squeeze a third set as Serena did start to look just a little rattled and could have been a corker.
