As it's a thread about Wlad I'll resist the temptation to labour the point that Lewis may have been behind on points but he clearly beat his opponent to a state where he wasn't fit to continue.

I think that if Haye is able to rought Wlad up he could KO him. It's more likely that Wlad would fight cautiously and pick Haye apart from range though. It may not be the most entertaining thing but Wlad now knows his chin's limitations and ensures that he stays out of trouble against a puncher.

Ukigunner,
where are you getting this nonsense about Wlad having this 'working class Russian/Ukranian fighters grit'? The two brothers could not by any stretch of te imagination be called working class. The only sensible thing you said was that Vitali was better.
It sounds like you haven't watched Wlad's last few fights. He has looked awful and scared to throw anything other than a jab. The only reason he is still champion is because he has been picking small limited fighters to make his defences against. Have a look again at his last fight against Ibragimov and then try and tell me that he is this hardcase you seem to think he is.

He might have been in the past but all he did in his last fight was tap and shuffle. He should have been stripped of his title, I waited up all night for an explosion it did not happen.

Wlad is a nothing fighter, if he was around ten-15 years ago in this division there would be so many fighters ahead of him. Its shocking that he is undisputed heavyweight champion of the world...wtf??? surely someones better than this guy...he truly is completely unspectacular and very average certinaly not world class operator.

can you imagine how a 1980's mike tyson would ko wlad.....it would make him look stupid. I think haye can do it against the bigger guy providing he gradually builds his weight up to about 16.5 stone over the next 6 months

Ukigunner - you say Wlad has "an inner grit that is next to nothing". Would you please explain what that MEANS.

Poor old Freddie Roach seems to think it was Wlad who fought Lewis in that bloodbath. It was Vitali!

rtwhufc1983:- Which Lennox Lewis are you talking about. When the fight was stopped in round six look at Vitali's face and look at Lennox Lewis. Vitali's was like a squashed Tomato. Lennox looked like he was just getting ready to enter the ring. Keep deluding yourself. The history books shows Vitali was stopped nothing you or any deluded twit can do about it. I think Haye will destroy Wlad too. But for me the real HW champion is Samule Peter, he was robbed against Wlad despite putting him on the canvas 3 times.

rtwhufc - why am I a smartass? I repeat, what does that sentence mean? If you are so flaming well-balanced and tolerant, YOU tell me what it means, mate. What's the point of posting anything if it's incomprehensible?

I'm concerned over Haye's continued rhetoric and lack of action in the ring. He defeated Enzo M, who basically had plan A and no plan B so when Haye hit him he had no idea of what to do. Poor tactics from his trainer Enzo Calzaghe. Haye keeps saying what he is going to blast every heavyweight out of the ring, but I wish he would now stop boasting and get into the ring, keep in trim, and fight a decent ranked fighter and prove that he is worthy of a title shot.
