30 too old? lol! the best example against this is nicky butt. hes 32 and was newcastles best player last year by a mile. Deco will be a good signing

I have to agree that deco is not too old, after his performance in the euros you can see he is clearly one of the best midfielders around still. However Using Nicky Butt as the perfect example is a horrible horrible statement because butt actually is a clown. The best example will always be scholes who is still performing at the top level.

IMO newcastle had less talent than chelsea do so butt appeared great.

I think I would have to say that in my opinion deco is too old for other teams in the premiership. But, at chelsea he will have a physical and pacey squad around him to create the space and time he needs to pick the killer passes. After all scolari wouldnt buy him if he didnt know how to get the best out of him.

Well.....there is no question abt his ability but can he exhibit his ability in a bit more pacier league where unlike spanish and the portuguese league he wont get all day to find that needle pass. And certainly his instincts aren't gettin any sharper....

IF RONALDINHO IS AVAILABLE GO AND GET HIM BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, CHELSEA CERTAINLY NEED HIM MORE THAN OLD MAN DECO, SHIP OUT SHevchenco, Wright-Phillips,Belletti,Anelka,Pizzarro, Sidwell, Ben-Haim and Malouda..Bring in Ronaldinho, Robinho, Queresma, Silva and Benzeama or Villa.

Chelsea does not need any more midfielders. It seems to me the chelsea fans are simple idiots who like to play football with names. Don't you people understand that with Ballack and Essien the midfield is fully operational. Now we got Deco, ok that's great, he fits better with both of them than the lonely boy Lampard does. SO why do we need ronaldinho? Only because you want to read names? Names don't win you anything boys and girls. Look at the national team and the overated players like Lampard.
So stop this nonsense of wanting more players. If we get more players, we will need a year or two to get the team going. It's like Ballack said, the team is good enough to win as it is, and damn right they were last season even though Grant was coach.
SO all you people, who think football is played on paper, go and learn football, before making such ridiculous comments on the sport or the team.
the only thing i got to say is: show lampard the door: Chelsea should not become a drama team but a winning team, and Lampard does not know how to win. the rest are good enough, just give them playing time.
