Albrechtsen!!!

Championship Derby County
comment on the article

Tremendous signing!!! Fits the bill in every way. Quick, strong, good experience of successful Championship campaign. Played 30 odd games for WBA last seasons mostly at centre back. Most importantly in terms of those players we've signed so far ...he's got a winning mentality...won tons of games in the last 2 seasons with WBA.

Very promising signing...and on a Bosman!

Was signed by West Brom as a CB but moved to right back by Megson largely due to being very quick...

Could he be the next IGORE!!!!!!!

Great signing. Its going to be an interesting season ahead. We have got rid of rubbish (i do not think Dave Jones of Rubbish) and brought in some interesting players.

He has certainly been a good at the Baggies so let us hope he is selected at centre half as we have a couple of decent full backs now. It would be good to see Lewin get a chance as he is committed to the club and is prepared to fight for a place. Would also like to see a good partner for "The Duke" as strikers hunt in pairs - plus a good keeper to keep Paddy on his toes. Are we ever going to see Ferrie Bodde or are the Taffs just acting stupid?? What is the point of keeping a player who doesn't want to play for you. We have had experience in that department before. All good signs for the coming season so let us hope that The Jewell in the Crown has got it right Don't understand what the Tree Fella from down the road is talking about - skint?? - since when. Just keeping the real powder dry for the Prem when we get back there. Good to see the Trees coming back down our way after their years in the Conference (oops I mean Div 1)!!!

Is this "new Igor Stimac" a different Albrechtsen or the limp version I've watched and waited for him to make a tackle at the Hawthorns for the past four years?

Very quick, very poor in the air and not suited to the hurly-burly of the CCC.

It speaks volumes that he was recruited as a centre-back but had his best games at right-back - and we all thought he was left-footed for 12 months!

All the best.

The only footage I have ver seen of the guy was when West Brom played up at Wigan a few years ago and West Brom were down to 10 men thanks to Darren Moore. However Albrechsten who was playing at right back ran pretty much the lenght of the pitch and scored what proved to be the winning goal. He also played a kajor role in keeping out the Wigan attack that day in a backs to the wall effort. Paul Jewell was in the Wigan dugout that day so I do wonder whether that match had any impact on this signing.
