So a new TV deal with Setanta for the SPL?
I bet Setanta are running out of money, they spend £300 million stumping up for B List Prem Fixtures.
So why should they fork out £300m for EPL rights when the SPL has a bigger audience, more scots have Setanta then we do here in England.
Setanta should scrap the EPL games and sell them back to Sky, the SPL will have bigger audiences then the B List EPL fixtures Setanta have.

Im a Man Utd fan but i read the BBC alot and saw the comment of the money being just ta drop in the ocean compared to the Premier League. Thing is the SPL isnt going to get the money that the Premiership will straight away. In time the money differences may become smaller. You cant expect the gap to become zero or close to it in a season!

This deal is truly pathetic.

Currently, each team in the English League get £50Million each per season.

Rangers and Celtic alone are worth the same as each of the EPL teams. That would be £100M per season just for Rangers and Celtic.

So if Lex thinks this is a great deal , he really needs to work much harder, or look for another job.

In effect this deal represents the TV value of four Old Firm games per season, let's be brutally honest here, there is no TV audience for many of our fixtures out with the old firm. However we can but hope that Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen et al don't squander the money and really do try to mount a serious challenge!

Big deal - and us supporters paying for it. Setanta forgot to mention, that they are increasing their subcription fees from 1st August by 30% (!).

I am a setanta suscriber for the last year and have watch a fair few SPL games as well. I think it is a decent league with some good players in it. Like others on this board I am slighty concerned that Setanta is spending a massive amount of cash and hope they don't fold. Remember as well as the English Premiership they have also spent a load on the FA Cup and England internationals.

Having moved to the US when I was 7 (21 years ago), Setanta is pretty much the only way I can hope to see an SPL game. If I want to watch Aberdeen I pretty much have to wait until they play one of the Old Firm or play it myself on XBox sadface. Hopefully this means there will be less EPL reruns and more SPL in the future.

This deal is spot on for what we're worth,no more no less. Our league is not the premiership or la liga etc.
PS money destroyed the quality of player coming out of Scotish clubs due to buying abroad. With no money we have found there is an abundance of young talent there to be had. Dont lets get back to trying to buy £10m players
