Froch - Taylor; Warning; Has JC References

I know some people, including myself, are tired of writing c-a-l-z-a-g-h-e into there keyboards but I have been thinking over the weekend.

If Carl Froch fights and beats Taylor for the vacant WBC title, then unifys against Kessler, and maybe Lacy, and then fights Pavlik, win or lose, has he had a better career than Joe. and has he proved himself a more honest fighter.

Any thoughts?

Because Lacy is American with a big promoter, where as Froch is from Nottingham and is signed to Hennessey Sports, hence why junior Witter struggled to get big fights, John Murray hardly gets any lgihtweight recognition etc etc.

Yes, if you're not signed to a big promoter you have to go a more traditional route. Which, over here, means going for the British then European titles. Both Witter and Haye did it this way and ended up at the top. Unfortunitely for Cark, he never progressed to the European title.

I strongly disagree with the "everybody is ducking Froch" viewpoint. It seems to me to be quite the opposite. I think team Froch have been biding their time, and not risking Carl against anyone remotely dangerous, until JC finally retires and there are vacant titles to pick up.

Get a grip man.

Carl Froch wants to fight Calzaghe. He's called him out on tele, everywhere in fact. And he is not being disingenuous. It's been obvious for quite a while Calzaghe wants nothing to do with him. Froch would prefer to win his first title off Calzaghe. It's his dream. To suggest otherwise is nonsense.

Carl Froch= RLK

(RLK:- Retirer of Legend Killers.)

Ray_Jones_jr, get a grip man.

Great, first of all Calzaghe is retiring to avoid Pavlik, and now Frochlaugh.

Froch cannot expect to go from fighting Albert Ribeki, a guy unknown in his own village, to the #1 ranked SM/LH. Froch needs to fight some contenders, guys in the top 10, hell even the top 20 would be something. And before we hear "everybody is ducking Froch", as far as I'm aware Dennis Inkin isn't "everybody".

Glad to see you take it in the right spirit Ray!

Anyway, I take your point about Froch. He needs a big name to make his calling out of Joe more credible. I think Taylor is such a name. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

Anyway a Carl Froch/Joe Calzaghe tear up would bring in a big crowd. Would love to see it happen.

I really do hope that Froch gets his fight with Taylor, and I give him a very good chance of winning it. I still don't believe it will happen, Froch is unknown in the US. It's all about that old chestnut - risk vs reward.

Yeah but Ray, Taylor must know the WBC belt will give him a stature that could command him bigger purses in the future.

If Taylor's people see Froch as a soft touch, why wouldn't they jump at the chance to get that prestigious belt on the 'cheap?'

Anyway, it doesn't really matter, Froch's fighting for the title in his next fight. It doesn't matter who. The belt's going back to Nottingham, Taylor or otherwise. And Taylor's people know it.

I'm not sure Taylor's people know who Froch is. Don't you think it's time Froch ventured out from Nottingham, after all he is 31 today!

laugh

They'll never forget him if they take the fight. Jeff Lacey. Do not even attempt to make me laugh.

Froch may be very good, we just won't know until he fights someone that hits back. I just hope he's sorted out that low left hand. A guy with a nose like Froch's can't claim to be great at not getting hit.
