Wimbledon day four

comment on the article

Hello again,
Plenty on offer today, although there are suggestions we may get a bit of rain later.

Let's deal with the Brits first - Keothavong v Venus, Murray v Malisse, and Eaton v Tursunov. I am bravely going for two British wins from Murray and Eaton, with no confidence at all.

Elsewhere, we have Rafa up against Gulbis on Court One, which could be a bit of a test for the world number two. There's also Roddick, Sharapova, Safina, Jankovic....

Let me know your thoughts.

Wow Roddick has brought in extra racquets!! too much tension on centre court!! We demand a 5th set!! C'mon A-Rod

As much as I love the A-Rod, but who can honestly withstand Janko's ravishing Rasputinesqueness (see 1731)? You just gotta love a tattoed Dostoyevsky reader. Come on Tipsy!

I really like Andy Roddick. He seems to have a lot of guts and a good work ethic and to be a genuinely nice guy.

However, I wonder what is next for him? For quite a while his game has put me in mind of The Duke of Wellington's comment about the French army at Waterloo:

"They came on in the same old way and we sent them back in the same old way".

I agree completely. I really like Roddick too and always want him to do well but I'm so often slightly disappointed with the way he plays. Why does he always seem to leave balls to fall into court when he could try to get his racket on them? Rafa runs those down like a terrier!

I didn't see the post match interview but I thought her comments about Sharapova's outfit reported in the Times were snide. Can you imagine Venus saying something like that? Was she misquoted?

The BBC commentators are ridiculous. Saying about players like Tipsarevic and Vaidasova and more.." you may never have heard of him/her before...".

Anyone claiming any half serious interest in tennis will have done so for sure. I get the impression that it's more a case of mugs like Barry Davies who have never heard - stick to football please.

When Tipsarevic won last night he was going way OTT saying it was the biggest shock. Not really. Sharapova and Djokovic are bigger shocks for sure. Tipsarevic is not a bad player and Roddick, well, is he bothered anymore anyway!?

Give me Eurosport tennis commentary any day (and football too actually).
