6 Miguel Angel Jimenez
7 Graeme McDowell
8 Justin Rose
9 Paul Casey
10 Darren Clarke
11 Ian Poulter
12 Paul McGinley / Martin Kaymer

Can't decide over spot 12. McGinley obviously has bags of experience and seems to have found some form lately. Kaymer has had a solid season and will be a top player in years to come, I think the Ryder Cup could possibly make him that player a couple of years or so early.

Oliver Wilson as first reserve.

jumbojodyer & FishcakesForTea & the others - Faldo doesn't have to pick Garcia, he's no.2 on the automatic list at the moment! In my opinion, his choice of the 2 picks seems to be from (alphabetically!) Casey, Clarke or Poulter.

I've come back to clarify the situation for those who show "impossible" selections. Look at the current standings and you'll see that chosing 4 players NOT in the current 10 is pointless, Faldo has only 2 choices! Casey, Clarke & McGinley have NO chance of automatic selection; only Dougherty, Fisher & Kaymer can earn their place but would need a top 2 finish at Gleneagles! Hope it's a little clearer now.

for me its got to be clarke and mcginley. 4 irishmen would be somethin special and both have precious ryder cup experience and their records in the ryder cup speak for themselves. both players in great form too with them finishing 1-2 on sunday. mcginley also leads the stroke average while is absolutely desperate to play.clarke meanwhile is a shoe in.

I posted that nearly 3 weeks ago when Garcia wasn't in the automatic places. In fact if you read the whole thread I state further up (or is it down) that Im sure Garcia will play his way into the team anyway. for me, the 2 wildcards have to be Casey and Clarke. Not forgetting a Top 3 finish this weekend will put Poulter into the team anyway. A longshot maybe, but not impossible.
