He ghost past defences like he's made of air. He's fast, skillful and SOOOOOOO good. His passes are like lasers in their speed and accuracy, his shots have the accuracy of Robin Hood. I WANT THIS GUY ON MY TEAM! Sell Hleb, who gives a damn? Just get Arshavin!!!!

how come theres no mention of another refereeing blunder at euro 08? anyone else think the standard of officiating has been a shambles??

let me ge this straight, russian centre back puts in a late challeneg on sniejder who does excellent to keep the ball in play, and play the ball back to van nistelrooy i think? who is then running towards the box with russia on the back foot having just conceded a goal.
but the ref decides to stop play for a free kick and give the russian a 2nd yellow (when clearly the he should have allowed holland the chance to continue then bring it back and issue a booking)

but then he changes his mind? did he bottle it, or realsie it wasa 2nd yellow? what happend!? i think the final out come was the yellow and freekick was retraced, holland never got there advantage, and the outcome was a goal kick!?!? now the only thing i can see here would be if the referee or linesman claimed sniejder never kept the ball in (which would one of the worst decision in the tournament in itself, becuase the ball was nowhere near out) then what followed was complete incompetence. you think the same outcome would have been if holland 1.had the chance to go forward and score a 2nd before ET. and 2.russia had to play ET with 10 men?

Saw Andrei Arshavin for the first time in action against the Dutch today and realise all the hype surrounding him. He is the Russian version of Messi and is definately better than Ronaldo.

It wasn't even a foul. The ref made a very brave decision, unfortunately the wrong one again, to listen to his assistant and overrule his own decision. Surely that is better than the Refs are gods and never make mistakes attitude. the ball lookeed like it was going out, and it took replays to be certain it didn't so don't blame the assistant for getting that wrong.

It wasn't even a foul, let alone a yellow card so "justice" prevailed in that sense.

Added to that the best team won, and should have scored at least 3 more goals then they did.

Surely after that mesmerising performance - Andrei Arshavin is the Best Player in the World.

I would like to see him in England but he's been quoted as saying Spain is his preferred destination. Who would buy him? The top two maybe wouldn't. Sevilla?

"Surely after that mesmerising performance - Andrei Arshavin is the Best Player in the World."

After two tournament matches? Very inspirational, creative, hard working player that he has been thus far, Best In The World is not it.

But that is the thing, Arshavin plays in the Russian Premier League, where Zenit St. Petersburg have been crowned champions AND recently the UEFA Cup champions, nice double. But he could have been playing like this all season and who would know? Would he then be put in for the final three of European and/or World Player Of The Year? Unlikely because he isnt featuring domestically and internationally within Western Europe.

Now if he moves, as rumours indicate, to Spain, and continues playing as he has, it is questionable whether he would still make the criteria. If he were to help Russia to the European Champions, as well as being a league title and UEFA Cup winner, I dont think it would still be enough. How many past winners have won top European and domestic victories with club and country in one season?

wasnt a foul?? what kind of football do you play?
of course it was a foul! it was a late challenge, the replay made it look very soft, but it was a late challeneg that knocked over sniejder after the ball had been passes. now tell me where in this scenario holland werent hard done by.

the have the ball in a good attacking oppertunity with russia on the back foot in the final minute of the game.

instead of playing the advantage the referee pulls it back for a foul (which is wrong desicion at the time)

so now after already having a booking, and i think bout 4 or 5 fouls to his name too, the referee decides to send him off, dont think he could have any complaints to be honest.

then the red is cancelled and the final outcome is a goal kick to russia when the ball was nowhere near out!?

another poor piece of refereeing at this tourny

of course it was a foul! it was a late challenge

The same kind as Alan hansen, Adrian Chiles, Andy Townsend 99% of the British football media and and so on. They went for the same ball, Scheiders foot arrives a fraction of a second earlier, he didn't start his challenge late, or after the ball had already been played. One of them was likely to reach the ball 1st and it just barely ended up not being themarriving a the same time.

You my friend are in the minority in this view so you might wanna make your point in a politer fashion next time

"what klnd of football do you watc?h"

chill dude, chill.
