tonl888 (U12431700) posted Jul 10, 2008 If Ronaldo thinks he deserves a chance to go to Real Madrid why then did he sign a long-term contract that surely comes commensurate with a hefty pay rise? Take the money and to hell with everything when he decides to up & leave when he feels like it? In this world that we live in there are rules and laws that we abide by. In professional sports and as in the business world there are such things as contracts. One cannot just take the money and not give back what is expected of you in return.

terrypaine (U2346514) posted Jul 13, 2008 To get back to the poster's point: he doubted that a move from Man Utd to The Filth could be considered as a step fwd., bearing in mind fan base, "bigness", etc. But I repeat, it's not a question of that, it's a question of how he perceives life and football. He thinks Madrid and Real Madrid are sexier than Manchester and Man Utd. He probably also thinks he's safer and less liable to fall foul of drunken nutters in Madrid than in Manchester. He's right, to our shame as a nation.
