Don't sell Lamps!!

Chelsea
comment on the article

Moratti says that Lamps is Inter's number one target.

I hope he says and Roman dosen't even THINK about selling him.

He's been the most consistent performer in the last four seasons for us. Not to mention all the important goals he scores. He's as important to us as Gerrard is to Liverpool and Ronaldo is to Man Yoo.

We don't need to sell him, I'd rather he left on a free next year than sell him. He's that good. Don't go Frank, do everything to keep him Phil!

Aimed at everyone making unfair and unfounded comments about the quality of Frank Lampard...
Is this the same Frank Lampard that has scored 95 goals for chelsea since the 03-04 season? People like to say that all his goals come from deflections... studies have been done and I think everyone now knows that this is absolute rubbish... (In case you are wondering, The Guardian found that in 73 goals only 6 were deflections, this study was a couple of years ago I think, but unless all of his more recent goals have been deflections, I doubt the figures have changed much...). Apart from his outstanding goal scoring record for Chelsea, he
consistently continues to perform to a top standard, providing goals and starting attacking moves. Why does he need to get back and defend when you have a master of the game like Makalele behind you? And even so, you still see Frank picking up the ball in his own half. As for comparing him with Steven Gerrard, who there is no doubt about being a fanstastic player... THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLAYERS... Stevie G is a machine, he runs the whole field and without him liverpool would most of the time be dead and burried!

Lampard is a credit to english football and anyone who says different is ignoring sense!

Lampard is fantastic footballer.

I think a new challenge is what is needed for him to progress as a footballer and help him regain his place back with the England set-up.

Mourinho knows him well and that cud help him settle any nerves.

I wud definitely welcome him to Inter next season. Also he will fit in Inter's away kit perfectly - it has the England flag on it - lol.

or

Is that how England got their idea for thier national flag - only joking.

Lampard to Inter - for me it cud happen tho will it? I hope so.

im a MU fan and personally, i think lampard is very over-rated, im not doubtin his ability to put the ball in the net (which is what u need really!) but apart from that, he's lazy, and over hyped! gerrard on the other hand i think is world class!

Arrrgh.

Lampard has one of the highest work rates in the Premiership. Darn, I wish I was as 'lazy' as Lampard. doh

Comments made by his representatives say that they are going to meet Inter Milan representatives in ten days.

Hope this is just to push Chelsea into making something concrete.

Lampard's agent did similar last year with all his 'Spanish for beginners' book in his back pocket etc.

But, this is a warning sign to helsea to offer him the deal he wants.

He dosen't get injured often and keeps his body in good condition, he could easily go on until 35years old.

He could definitely play at the top level until 35 - pace has never been one of his main qualities, although he is faster than people think.

He wants to stay, the club want him to stay - it's simply just a question of sorting out his contract. Plus, if you have read my comment on the previous page or so, you would see that the contract is very close to completion.

Yes, but it's reported to be stumbling over the length of contract, not any other issue.

I think Chelsea made a mistake offering Sheva a five year deal when they hadn't even seen him play in England, but Lamps is a sure bet and deserves a four year deal.

I agree.

I mean, we know how little contracts mean nowadays. If Lampard signs a 4 year deal, that doesn't stop him moving in 2 years time anyway if he feels he needs a new challenge. Given the significant contribution he has made to this club and the fact that he is one of our best ever players, it is only fitting in my opinion that we award him with a new 4 year contract.

I, like most other true Chelsea fans, would love to see Lampard stay for at least another 4 years. He says he wants to stay and the club say they want to keep him, so hopefully it is just a question of resolving a few issues.

Banners80,

You are just another typical Lamapard AKA Good Footballer who plays for Chelsea hater who clearly wouldnt know football if it came and bit on the backside.

Frankie Lampard has ALSO SCORED loads and loads of quality UN-Deflected goals which have helped prove him to be the quality player that he has been over the last 4 or 5 years.

.... If you dont shoot, you dont score! Shall we decide from now on if a player shoots from distance and it takes a touch off a defender that the goal should not count?!?

Great players make their own luck, and Lampard has been and still is... a GREAT player.

Buy Lampard

£6.6 Million seems a bargain.
