If the ball had not gone into the cup, it might well have gone off the green the other side. And those long putts....had to have a huge quantum of luck,,, work out the math of angles....how many fractions of a degree do you have to be off line to miss a cup a bit over 4 inches in diameter, from 100 feet....and running over a surface that probably has hundreds of spike marks to deviate the ball. To claim he is not lucky consistently, is to insult the game. Look at it...he drives it waaay off line and gets a free drop due to a line of sight relief, onto trampled down surface which leaves the ball sitting up. The guy is good....let's accept that...but he was also born with a golden "golf club" in his mouth...let's not deny that.

Palisade21 (U11355935) posted Jun 15, 2008 If the US feed emphasized Westwood or even Mediate over Tiger Woods absolutely no one would watch. Tiger Woods is golf in America, and NBC is more motivated by ratings than the BBC. Asides from Woods and Michelson, the only players with some "star power" for an American audience are guys like Garcia, Els, Singh, and possibly Scott and Goosen. Daly too would obviously draw big ratings if he ever played well in a major. Westwood has been great but he doesn't have a big name and is simply nowhere near as compelling as Tiger to a US audience.
