Friday's gossip column

Premier League
comment on the article

Hi,

Just done the gossip column with most papers leading on Chelsea's possible transfer targets.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...

A couple of new names to crop up include Brazilian Ronaldinho who is apparently desperate to link up with 'Big Phil' at Chelsea.

Kaka and Deco have again been mentioned but another new name who is apparently on Scolari's wishlist is Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.

How would Chelsea fans feel about the arrival of Ronaldinho? And is the Torres rumour the most ludicrous we are likely to hear this summer?

Another tabloid apparently also claims that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has told Scolari to stop talking Ronaldo into a move to Real Madrid.

How do Man Utd fans feel about this rumour, and do you think that Scolari is unsettling Ronaldo?

Other transfer gossip claims that Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is after a move to AC Milan, Tottenham are targeting PSV Eindhoven's Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes and Portsmouth are keen on Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Can Arsenal fans see Adebayor leaving? Do Pompey fans want Gudjohnsen? Anyone Spurs fans seen Gomes play?

Any, let me know what you think of the days other rumours and if you've got any of your own.

finally, no news about ade.
i think we do a exchange+money with RVP and villa, i think they are the same sort, quick and classy. RVP is too injury prone. And it would make Fabregas happy too.

I really hope Villa Joins Arsenal.

I am very worrried because I believe ade is a one season wonder.
I think we should sell RVP as he is so injury prone.

--------

I really don't think we'll buy Villa, I think with him upfront instead of Ade we'd lose the extra dimension to our game that we always needed. I also don't see the Prof spending that much on him when we're hardly in need of a striker (Ade, Bendtner, RVP, Vela, Theo, Eduardo).

Also of note, Giggsy was quite injury prone for a while, I wish the mancs had sold him because of it.

If Liverpool want to show real intentions they need to buy Villa (David, not Aston!). We've all seen the Gerrard/Torres link and are now seeing similar telepathy between Torres and Villa. Would be good for the Prem!!

As a Gooner i'd like to see Villa come to us, there seems to be some good play between him and Fab too, but I don't think it's going to happen - if RVP is fit and Eduardo is back as soon as they think then he'd be surplus to be honest.

OK, Chelsea have a new manager - that was interesting. But now there is no justification for a separate section on Chelsea rumours. They are just one club among others, albeit the club with the richest, and most generous, owner.

--------------------

Absolutely agree with you. I posted on this yesterday, you'd have thought we could get some balance on a page that is meant to be for every club. Ok its going to be dominated by those that have more money and do more in the way of transfers (or even just generate more press involvement), but really, no need for a seperate section for Chelski."

It says all you need to know about the BBC, why they should place one team above ALL the others I don't know. It's not as if they won anything.

Could the BBC please introduce a section for proposed Totenham transfers targets, so we can tick off players we are definitely NOT signing?

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to go back to Tottenham with a £25m bid for striker Dimitar Berbatov. (Sun)

Are we now going to report SAF to UEFA for tapping up our player, which I believe has been going on for over a year now and included times when he should have been concentrating on his football. Of course not as it will be waste of time because they are scared of upseting SAF and MANK Utd

------------------------

what a daft comment to make. Real Madrid havent even bid for United and not once has SAF come out in public and said we want Berbatov. Its all paper talk...Good to see you believe everything which is written. I wouldnt call paper talk as "tapping up" whereas Calderon speaking out in public about a contracted players is!

As a Liverpool fan, I'd wet myself with excitment if Villa came to Anfield. The Gerrard/Torres/Villa axis would be something to behold. I also think that he might be attracted to a move there, not least because of Torres and the Spanish connection. The sticking point, however, would be the transfer fee, which would have been an issue BEFORE the Euros...never mind now!

So...12 months after signing a 6 year contract, Chelsea are "interested" in Fernando Torres at double what Liverpool paid for him last summer.
Two things,
Firstly when signed for 21m every man and his dog said he wasn't worth it and would be a flop smiley
Secondly, he has FIVE years left on his contract and has repeatedly said he is loving it at Anfield and is not interested in moving. Is he now going to have to come out and deny it every summer like Gerrard to Chelski, Vieira to Madrid, Henry to Barcelona and so on till the press (Ronaldo to Madrid) get thier own way.

I think you will find that some of United's best players have either cost nothing at all,as in the case of players like Scoles,Beckham,Butt and the Neville brothers,or next to nothing as in the case of players like Schmeical, who was at one time considered to be the best goalkeeper in the world, and yet only cost United £550,000.
