i would like to see Murphy dropped from the midfield and for them to have a midfield of Davies----Gera-----Bullard-----Dempsey and maybe a pacey left footed left midfielder to replace Dempsey then thats our midfield sorted for the new season Chimbonda would be good for the defence but the strikeforce has to be strengtened

Was a good servant for us, fans fave, would of liked him to sign on...has a fair bit of quality and flourished with our passing football but is now getting on at 29 and with mowbray we could find better, probably another wba reject flopping at fulham ie kamara.

As I have drawn criticism for not falling with the party line of praising him as this great footballer I will leave my criticism to a minimum.

If everyone is fit and on form he will not start. Davies will be on the right, Bullard and a defensive midfielder will pair up in the centre and a new left winger will occupy that position.

Roy has done well to convince him to join despite Everton's approaches.

You only need to take one look at the Hungary team playing at the Euro this year, to know that Gera, as their captain, is a quality acquisition.

Probably a great signing. Judging from the negative reaction of the Albion fans, he must be a terrific player.

Problem is this: from every description I've heard he's an offensive and creative midfielder who scores goals. But we already have Bullard filling that niche. What we need is a good, hard-nosed holding/defensive midfielder. I'm concerned that playing both Gera and Bullard, along with offensively-minded Davies and Dempsey, will leave a huge gap between the midfielders and the back four. Diop was great at filling that space, and we need another player like him.

Having expressed my concerns, it bodes well for Fulham that Hodgson has been able to sign quality players like Schwarzer and Gera, players who might have avoided a team like Fulham in the past.

CottageCraven (U10629929):
gera used to play as a second striker or central midfielder in hungary, even in the national team he used to play in this position, but in wba he had to play as right winger. there where concerns that because of that he wasn't allowed to show his best. but he became quite good on the right as we all could see.. and now that buzsaky and hajnal (plays in germany for ksc, from july for dortmund) are very good as well in the center he has to play on the wing for his country, too. but again, his natural position is attacking central midfielder.

Last post is correct. Attacking midfielder or wide right. Fulham fans are mistaken if they think it'll be Davies, Bullard, Gera and Dempsey. Either that or we'll be competing with each other for most goals conceded. He could play somewhere central for Hungary as they had battling players behind him. West Brom didn't have those players and neither on paper do Fulham so I don't see him playing centrally for them either.

All fans are bitter when players go off for more money. I laugh when fans keep posting about 'free transfers'. Gera and Schwarzer are costing Fulham a fortune. Forget transfer fees...all the 'free' does is allow Fulham to pay more in wages and signing on fee. They were far from free.
