LEWIS HAMILTON

Formula One

Well, well, well Lewis. You blew it again. For someone who said on live TV after his 3rd F1 race "I don't make mistakes" you have really taken the biscuit this time.

His mistake in hitting Kimi at the Canadian GP was inexcusable. Anyone who tries to excuse him is either blinded by whatever Ron Dennis says or they don't relalise that these drivers are payed millions of pounds a year to keep their cars in the race. They are also supposed to be the best drivers in the world. If I had paid top dollar to see this race I would not have been happy to see the World Champion taken out so early.

Before you all get on the "everyone's a Lewis basher" band wagon I'd like to point out that I am not a LH basher...

...but that does not change the fact that his error was totally pathetic. He needs to loose his delusions of grandeur and come down to earth a little. If Britain is going to have another world champion then our "top driver" should take a leaf out of our last world champions book with regards to attitude and personality.

Dezabolla, i understand circumstance and yes lewis was initially funded by his father at 8yrs old through the cadet championship, as was jenson button by his father and as most karters of that age are, my father too part funded my karting exploits from 10yrs old, but apart from a couple of years it was all mclaren for lewis, unlike other karters like jenson who was supported by his fathers rocket team.

Damon hill did not gain his success on his fathers name at all, that was all down to damon and him alone, if you ever watched damon through his club racing you would understand that.

As for lewis being positive thats great cause thats what you would expect from him or any other driver, but lewis acts like a petulant child lately when things go bad and not very positive i must say, his over confidence breeds his arrogance and shows to me how not to act in the light of the media.

Whether we perceive someone as focused and determined or dull and arrogant depends largely on whether we like them or not. I don’t like L.H. and never have. His “monkeys at the back of the grid” remark would have brought howls of protest from the P.C. loonies if the comment had been aimed at him. You can’t knock his talent though, and I believe that he will lift the trophy one day.

mrlilywhite (U9381848) - To me you just come across as sounding bitter that you didn't get further in your career and ended up driving a lorry. The M25 is a doddle, the only annoying thing about it is all those bloody lorries getting in the way and slowing the traffic down when they take 5 miles to overtake as one is doing 59.5mph and the other is doing 59.75mph.

As far as mentality goes, I would have thought it would drive you more mental being stuck going so slow than racing. Maybe this was the issue and LH suddenly had a nightmare about being a lorry driver and being bored out of his skull for hours on end.

As far a commitment goes, LH was obviously committed and obviously has balls, else he wouldn't have approached RD in the first place and would have struggled more than he did. Are you really trying to say that he had it easy because of this? If RD hadn't seen that he had something special, do you seriously think he would have bothered sponsering him and giving him targets?!? If you do, then its not LHs mentality that is unstable.

What target did he give him when he came out of the pits in Canada?

What a typical British attitude. Jealous by any chance? LH has been racing for less than a year and a half and yet most British "racefans" are criticising his mistakes. His victories, thus far are clearly lucky or a result of having the best car. Really? Give the guy a chance. He's making this sport a real spectacle after the boring Schumi years and he's British! If you analyse his "mistakes" you have to queery his team's role. Should they have changed his tyres sooner in China, ensured a better strategy at the N'Ring and radioed him to tell him about the red pitlane light? No, far easier to blame the guy with the silver spoon in his mouth. As i said, jealous are we?

I`ll make it short.

Hamilton is a a good F1-driver, he can potentially be great. We`ll see in the years to come.

His conduct on the other hand is terrible. Either he`s too full of himself or too ignorant to keep his mouth shut. Somebody should take the kid by his neck and make him shut up. He`s not doing himself any favours at the moment, just building himself up for a big fall. "Lewis, dont`t do it, please!!"
