NBA Finals

comment on the article

The Los Angeles Lakers have won game three of the NBA Finals to reduce Boston's lead to 2-1.

It was a must-win game for Phil Jackson's side as no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit.

As it is the Lakers are trying to become only the fourth side to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the finals.

Can Kobe Bryant and the Lakers do it?

Riley did do it with the Lakers and the Heat. I think the guy now has about 5 rings in total.

Riley also lost in the Finals with the Knicks.

Larry Brown almost did it but lost in the Finals with AI and 76ers.

experience is not a factor in this match-up as I don't believe either team has the edge.

KG is the biggest worry for me as he is just not producing a performance that the C's need from their 'heart' and intensity player. The Lakers have upped their D on Pierce and should get more foul calls at the Staples Centre that has represented a huge differential between the teams at the Garden.

If the Lakers can manage to keep Pierce quieter than the first two games and stop Odom from being such a pussy then they should win the next couple.

Kobe's the DON!! He's on fire at the moment.

You could see from the look on his face last night that he knew what was expected of him. And he produced when it really matterd. Attacking the basket, lay-ups, dunks... the man has it all.

Expect him to lead the Lakers to victory in BOTH the next two games.... and then it'll all come down to the games in Boston.

LA will need a 2-2 split to win it (which may be asking too much away from home)

But I predict its going to be very VERY CLOSE

Kobe is G0D!!

The Lakers beat a very sub par Boston, missing Rondo for long spells, Paul pierce not finding his stroke all night and KG missing far too many easy shots!

Tonights game will be interesting, if these 3 can step up and Ray Allen stays on his game Lakers look out!

Question: If LA win it would Jackson be the only coach to win two championships with two different teams? Didn't Riley do it?

-----------------------------------------------

Jacksons already won it with the lakers (3 in a row) and the bulls he's got 7/8 rings hasnt he?

Ray Allen seems like the new glue to this team in this series. KG and Pierce are finding it hard to get ANY consistency. If they bring their game, then I stand by my 4-1 prediction. Celtics to win it in the last game at Staples.

Couldn't disagree more about Ray Allen. Surely Pierce and Rondo should get the epithet of being 'glue'. Allen drops 25 in a loss after Kobe is switched to mark Pierce in the fourth. What does that tell you about which player LA fears more?

The key for the Lakers is NOT kobe. koe will score 20+ points in every game thats a given. the supporting cast needs to step up, vujacic bailed the other starters out by exploding for 20points but thats not going to get it done for them in the next games. Gasol & Odom are the key for the Lakers and if they continue their horrible play the Lakers dont stand a chance. Kobe needs help, vujacic provided it in game3 but he cant do it every game so unless the help doesnt come boston will be too strong for them. game4 is the crucial game. anything can happen both teams are familiar with the starting time (6pm) the court (staples) and the crowd, so this will be the momentum game. if boston win they win the series, if lakers win all the momentum is on their side and once odom and gasol get into their rhythm the lakers are just unstoppable..

Jackson has 9 rings. 6 with the Bulls, 3 with the Lakers.

Ok Tonight will be a different story IF - Garnett and Pierce can show up! and why when leading going into the fourth did Doc Rivers refuse to start with either of these big two (of the big three). If Boston go into the fourth leading again, Im expecting it to be different tonight. KG to hit big numbers and Rondo to shake off injury the key!! good luck Celts
