no. have alook further back if you can be bothered.

anyway, lets try and get this back on topic shall we?

what you think of diarra instead of barry? worth testing harrys resolve with a cheeky bid? i reckon it would be better buy, hes younger and has the potential, i reckon it was a mistake for wenger to let him leave.

"page 7 was my first post"

Page 7 wasn't today, son. Look, none of my mates are in prison, steal hubcaps or vehicles and wear jet black fake afros and wear shellsuits, not that I know of and if I did they would be shot of sharpish, so dont worry I havent got a reception planned for yous!

I dont want Diarra and Barry would have to come at something within the max of £15m and even that's pushing it. Because he is regarded as Villa's top player and the fuss and furore the Villa fans have been whipped up to by MON (very shrewd of him), the demand is not to give in to one of the 'big 4' and simply set camp and go for broke on how much. far as I'm concerned LFC and Barry want Barry to LFC and AVFC should broker a deal of amicable worth to all parties, only they are holding down on it going further.

Otherwise I would be content on looking elsewhere, if a left-foot player is needed. AVFC fans say cough up or get knotted, they dont need to sell but they want to keep a player who wants to move and who doesnt therefore share the view that they will break into the top 4.

Does anyone think that with the pending sale of Riise to Roma, that this is the position Barry will be heading for?

similar role to Riise, sometimes LB sometimes LM

Is an in form Barry better than an in form Riise?

No Barry wouldn't play LB, he would play CM him and Gerrard play well for England and Liverpool are selling Alonso.

He is a better all-round player than Riise, but we'll have to see if Liverpool are prepared to pay

If Barry does joins us, the furore of him playing at LB would erupt Merseyside. I cant imagine it. CM is his forte, certainly couldn't imagine him at LB when he could link again in the middle with Gerrard. Besides, we will have the choice of Aurelio or Dossena.

Why are Liverpool selling Alonso and then being taken to the cleaners to sign Barry?

Gerrard, Mascherano and Alonso is as good as anything in the Premier League!

For the Villa fans moping about Gerrard setting up Barry all the more with his comments:

"New Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he would love to work with Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba again.

Former Chelsea boss Mourinho has made it clear he would like to be reunited with the pair he previously managed.

"I cannot forget Deco, Lampard and Drogba. These are players who I could never say no to," said Mourinho.

"I would love to work with them again in the future, but I am not too obsessed with this idea."

He added: "I don't know which of these three will leave their clubs but we will see."

Cue accusations of tapping up, Mourinho to be taken to FIFA by Chelsea and uproar from the Chelsea fans.

GVH.

I heard that Barry plays as LB & LM, He realy doesnt impress me as the answers to England or LFC, and to be honest, he has only played against 2nd rates international teams, he's 27, I would say he's about 4th or 5th choice for England and I wouldnt expect him to be placed above, Gerrard, Lampard, Hargreaves, Carrick, he probably isnt even 3rd choice for LM for England (and hes one of only two left footed players), J Cole, Downing, Gerrard, Barry - without trying to show any dissrespect to the man, as i dont see him playing week in/out, but it seems that Xabi could well be staying and if you say him playing in the last Spanish match, there is no way on earth would you sell Alonso(24yrs) and buy Barry(27rs).

The way he would replace Riise (thanks mate) is because Riise was both a LM & LB.
Everyone knows that Rafa likes choices, and of course selling both Riise & Kewel means we will lose natural left footed players, which I beleive is the only reason Rafa wants him.

Seriously, LFC supporters are split over buying Barry, most i speak to can only see him as a team player, not part of the spine, which as said above, Alonso, Mascha & Gerrard is as good a midfield as any team has.

It'll be interesting what will happen by next season
Personally, i think it would be a major mistake to pay any more than £13mill very max, for Barry
and that is only if we keep Xabi
