For the first time this year James Toseland will be on familiar ground at Donnington Park. With his natural skill, aggression & determination I can see him getting on the podium given a modicum of good luck. Having said that, it will not be easy. Good luck J.T.

Having read the above articles, I must say how disappointed I am to see JT getting so much negative press from some people so soon. Are these negative remarks based on impatience or just a desire to knock him anyway?

Common sense and history shows that anyone who has stepped up from World Superbikes into MotoGP, hasn't made an instant and sustainable impact, and this includes the Superbike World Champions. Troy Corser and John Kochinsky both failed at the first hurdle, Colin Edwards continues to try, whilst Troy Bayliss did manage a win and a handful of podiums.

Motorcycle racing needs a huge profile lift in this country, and JT (and Bradley Smith and the boys in 125) have got themselves in a position where they just may be able to do it. Try appreciating the levels they have reached thus far, they are racing in Premier Class, and given some support and encouragement they may go all the way.

Oh !! I do support all the uk boys in the 125's,and i never have knocked them they deserve all the press they get, and i do hope it works out for them and they can get the suport to make it to the top, and who knows we may have another Stoner, or Rossi in the making, they are our only chance

Julian S - while I applaud your intent to raise the profile of MotoGp, I just dont think the way that some BBC commentators place unrealistic expectations on JT's shoulders is the right way to go about it.
JT has talent but lets face it, considering his opposition the chances of him winning podiums this year were and still remain remote. Having the BBC talk him up is only going to lead to disappointment and drive people away from the sport (not the mention what it it must be doing to the kid's head)

Not one for the hype but certainly not one to slate our latest MotoGP combatant to the degree that so many do on these boards do. We need all the exposure we can get in order to bring on young strong GB talent. Why do you think our boys get their training in Spain? Don't you want future champions to be picked up from the UK? Well exposure at the top level gives them the chances others around Europe take for granted.

I was there yday in the wet supporting my favourite rider Rossi and my new champ Lorenzo. I gave Toseland the odd cheer and big up to Spies - the boy should come to GP's as soon as and I've wanted that for the past year and a half. If you found enough time to get off your but... to slate toseland here I hope your money is doing some good in the sport elsewhere.

JT had a BAD day, he's not in the league of Rossi and Stoner but what the hell, he's British and we need help in this sport. Thank god for P.Denning and the Suzuki link for British involvment.

Obviously 52 isn't everyones cup of tea. I cringe at somethings he does or says and wish he'd say no to Suzy Perrys' crawling but again I say it's exposure for UK talent so I can put up with it.

I'm clearly taking to a wall however so lets shut down the UK circuits, put out the lights and look fwd to US kids getting the nod over our boys. Have you watched AMA OLD BOYS recently. I despair.

O yeh, those 800's sound great not 990 great but not far off. You can hear the electronics and engine braking working the nuts off those things. Stoner looked awesome and good damn aggressive, everyhere. Rossi smooth..sooo smooth. Pity Dani/Lorenzo are injured. They both looked very tentative. Toseland, nah, bad bad day at office, never sounded quite in right gear - he didn't look that comfortable it must be said. Maybe trying too hard. Melandri - if he was a horse...(sorry 33) no justice. O and quick nod to Hayden, that Ducati looks more and more like he'd lov it.

After all the build-up and slagging off of F1 in the MotoGP articles before this GP, that was just as boring as today's French GP. Almost no overtaking, no excitement, no drama.

I'll stick with F1 from now on, thanks.

Well based argument there Denwyn, nice to know you can have a structured discussion on something.

Toseland is a good rider. He is NOT in the same class as Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner, Lorenzo, Dovisioso, Hopkins, Edwards. I wish him luck in the rest of the season as Donnington was a mess for him. A podium is out of his reach this season I am afraid.

Bortron (U4329323, I do agree with you on this 'race' alone but you'll find this is probably down to Donington, in my opinion it's never been a good circuit for the spectators and indeed the neutrals. Watch the race from Assen on Saturday and I swear you'll see a far more enjoyable affair.
