I dont buy that Rafa won so easily because Federer didnt show up, or because he had an off day. Federer couldn't play properly due to Rafa being too good on clay. Federer knew early on that he wasn't going to win. He played some great points, and still lost them.

Federer knew he wasn't going to win today after the first 4 or 5 games, and thats why he missed so many of the shots he did. Rafa is far too good and it broke Federer mentaly, because he knew he could not stop it. Nothing to do with Federer having a bad day.

Could anyone please tell me how the points stand now and how far Nadal is behind Federer.

Federer was a thousand plus before RG, so if he gets 250? and Nadal 500?, then it's now (roughly) below 1000 points as the clay court season ends.

Rafa hammered Federer today, which wasn't expected.

Federer just didn't show up today and Rafa was on top of his game. However, come Wimbledon I expect Federer to be back to his best and the roles pretty much reversed.

Credit to both players, Rafa demolished his opponent but was graceful excepting his prize and although massively dissappointed Roger Federer was the same. It would have been a better match had Federer actually turned up but i guess that shows how god Rafa is on clay. Not 100% there and he'll kill you off.

Looking forward to a summer of Tennis now!

Defo the Worst Performence i have seen from Federer in a long time. I think if he loses Wimbledon now...his career as "Unstopabble" is well and truly gone

Well Done Nadal

Heck I'm a Federer fan, but have to admit Rafa was awesome today. Fed didn't play well, but Nadal in the last 3 matches has played what must be just about perfect tennis. I don't think Fed would have had a chance even if he had played well, Nadal was that good.

Should be interesting at Wimbledon. I just hope they both make it to the final as this year Nadal must be fancying his chances. Surely every tennis fan wants to see the two of them in the Wmimbledon final.

An incredible display from Rafa in the presence of the great Borg. I hope he can stay healthy and focused so we can see were his talent leads him.

As far as Federer is concerned: He fell behind too quickly and I suspect lost some (most?) of his confidence after that first set.

Great mutual respect and sportsmanship was shown by both, the victor and the defeated were equally graceful.

With all due respect to all other competitors, I am thrilled at the prospect of these two meeting again in Wimbledon final.

"I was very, very impressed with Nadal's modest winning celebrations - he knew he had embarrassed and outplayed Federer, but did not want or need to rub it in - jonhan"

Very true... that was just as impressive from Nadal as the scoreline...

I dont really understand the hype about Nadal's reserved celebration. He won 6-1 6-3 6-0. Especially finishing with a 6-0, he knew he was going to win before he did. It was just a natural reaction to winning a piss easy match.

I am definitly a Federer Fan, But have to admit that Rafa was awesome and there was no way to stop him.I have never seen Roger play so bad. It was painful to watch, and I thought that Nadal was very gracious. Well done Rafa.
