theoptomist1 (U10789015) posted Jun 8, 2008 I thought Portugal started very well they have no one to fear in this tournament at all. I also think the Czech's are well past their best a very ordinary side who could end up hammered by a decent side.

filipe24 (U4713182) posted Jun 8, 2008 Good display by Portugal we could have scored 4 or 5 with a bit more luck. Can't believe people on this board are knocking Portugal's performance. Must be "Sun" readers who still believe that Ricardo Carvalho deliberatly got under Rooney's foot so he could get stamped.

Bristol-Chosen-Few-RangersFC (U9556412) posted Jun 8, 2008 Portugal looked tidy in places, even though Germany might not be the best on paper, you can never write them off in a tournament, id like Holland to win as they are a bit like England and Spain in the sense they can bottle it in these sorts of tournaments.

chrissave (U12255284) posted Jun 8, 2008 Agree that UK commentary is bland but what more do we expect. No opportunity to endlessly ponder over Englands missed chances, Rooneys injured foot, general underperformance and qualification maths (after England lose another 'cert' match.!) At least we can all relax and enjoy some decent football from teams who are proud to wear their National shirts.

Oangelo (U12132805) posted Jun 8, 2008 its typical for Portugal to put 2 or 3 balls in the woodwork per game... quite often we are very unlucky with our accuracy...the game could have, at least, had a scoreline of 4-0... if we have the luck, we could go all the way

braderz4captaincy (U12129780) posted Jun 8, 2008 I thought Portugal looked very scary just be glad us English don't have to play them it'd be heartbreak. You have to admit they really do look like genuine contenders for the tournament, they could have won that match 5-0. Ronaldo was superb as was Pepe. I'd rather see Germany win the tournament though if i'm being honest.
