RWC champs beat 6N champs.

International Wales
comment on the article

Well the best team in the world beat the best team in the Northern Hemisphere and how!

Ignoring Percy's non-try and some ropey penalty decisions by the SH's worst ref ever, the Boks showed us how to play the game.

Barring the surprise Welsh victory I'd hoped for, I was looking forward to seeing the new running SA style and was not disappointed. One suspects that even the mighty ABs could struggle against this.

Generally Wales were nowhere NEAR at their best, but the best in the welsh team today was Stephen Jones who was absolutely flipping AWESOME. A few sparks of brilliance from some of the others (usually stifled by a ref who seemed to have swallowed his whistle) and a fantastic try from Shane and an otherwise inconsistent Jamie Roberts.

Oh how we missed Byrne, Henson and Nugget.

Still, at least we weren't nilled by them and kept them to 26 points difference.

Perhaps next week will bring a better result. Or after that when they come to Wales. I just hope we don't fall into the cowardly stifling match that other teams sometimes play to try and keep the defeat scoreline low.

Until our next victory I'll take solace from the fact that at least we are the best team in the NORTHERN Hemispere.

Yes, Firefly, you did exactly what I anticipated and removed my WUM post, which proved the very point I was making, which is that you guys find the truth hard to take. Go on, prove me right again and delete this. Otherwise, any other reason you wouldn't remove Finbar's xenophobic comments from earlier? I'm far from xenophobic - my wife is South African, which actually, when you think about it, makes some of the other comments on this board by a certain dog deeply offensive.

Finbar - WTF is 'puntuation'?

We were pretty useless. I felt a little embarrassed by the number of mistakes, penalties given away and a severe lack of confidence by the majority of the team. Also, did anyone else feel really frustrated by Cooper's service - very slow (not that he's the reason we lost)?

Can't believe you lot. Wales lost because they were not good enough. The ref is Northern, not Southern Hemisphere. Your own coach, Warren Gatland said, elsewhere on this site, that he was ashamed of the Wales performance, the players just never fronted up. Admit it, you were rubbish today, then get on with life.

Fat George, i think everyone does admit that Wales never performed, doesn't mean we can't say the ref had a shocker!

I think that game decided what welsh players would be going on nxt years lions tours, and the answer is none of the tight five, perhaps A W Jones.

Also I dont think having ur unfit players would have made any difference. You were stuffed up front, martyn williams is a great link between backs and forwards, but he isnt the bruising Schalk Burger type who would have helped you out in the physical stuff.

the Boks looked awesome, their forwards looked on a completely different level, bigger faster and mor aggressive, epitomised by Juan Smith.

Gutted to be routed like this but let's nopt forget Gatland's job has only just begun, despite winning the Grand Slam. Playing the world champions at high altitude and without four or five key players was always going to be too much. We should do better in the autumn internationals. I think the scoreline will be a bit tighter next week too. 15 points maybe.

I wouldn't have liked to be in dressing room after the match, Gatland & Edwards must have gone ape, soooooo many handling errors and silly penalties.

Looked like SA did their homework on wales and i think even though we won the 6N we'll struggle to beat nothern hemisphere teams!
