Hats Off Baddeley & LancashireBritish athletics by The Sulphur Man (U8636851) 07 June 2008 Fantastic wins for Andy Baddeley & Tom Lancashire in the Bislett Games last night. Well done lads. I have been critical of UK mens distance running but these 2 victories & PBs gave me a lot of pleasure. Earlier in the year on this board I tipped Lancashire to make a major breakthrough & gain Olympic selection so I am feeling quite smug today. Well coached by Norman Poole, Lancashire has benefited from an 'old school' british cross country season. Fingers crossed that by the time of Beijing, Britain have a distance squad of Rimmer & Ellis at 800m, Baddeley, Lancashire plus either East or McCormick at 1500m and Farah, Thompson & possibly Scott Overall over the 5000m. A good chance of a finalist at each distance & the outside chance of medals for Farah & Baddeley? Its not impossible. Latest comments

djlovesyou (U3952528) posted Jun 8, 2008 Baddeley's is an extremely good performance. That's worth about a 3.32.6 1500 or something. Lancashire maybe has a small distance to go before he can really challenge on the international scene but he's an extremely tough racer and I wouldn't put it past him to improve by another couple of seconds this year.
