There is speculation on our boards that our manager Aidy Boothroyd is a target to become Manager.

I think everyone is being a tad harsh on Mclaren, he was not ready for the England job. But, he did do some great things for Boro.

Even Boro fans only remember the bad times because of the England malarkey. But we atacked big teams when he was in charge, are stil the only team to beat chelsea by more than two goals since mourinho first took over.

I think he would do a good job at Blackburn and should not be ruled out straight away.

I dont see why you dont want steve mcClaren who did well at man utd of course as assistant, got boro to the uefa cup final and won the carling cup!

Just because he was awful for england doesnt mean he cant manage a club well. And lets not forget no england manager has done well, the last time was terry vens and that wasnt even winning the competition in euro 96...

Dont dismiss mcClaren as he is a good club manager, ince is unproven.

He's been out of the game for far too long to come back. It would be a bad move.

Let's go for a young talented manager again like Aidy Boothroyd, or at a stretch Paul Ince. I'm sure JW will make the right decision, he has never steered us wrong yet.

Such is Blackburn's lack of sparkle and prestige, the job will only entice the out or work (Mclaren, Alladyce) or should be out of work (Curbishley, Pardew, Megson,Bruce). It is fair to say that managing an average team with a disappointingly poor fan base and 20p to spend on transfers will not be setting the hearts racing of many Italian coaches!

Has anyone mentioned Simon Grayson, currently of Blackpool, he has done well for the donkey lashers, having been given no money what so ever.

McClaren is not an option surely! Hasn't he just become the new manager of FC Twente? He isn't going to leave them without even manageing the team.

Personally, I don't think the Blackburn board can wait too long before appointing a new manager. With the Euro's on the horizon, more players will be snapped up early, and during the tournament leaving slim pickings for any manager scouring the market in mid-late July.

I think Shearer is the obvious choice. A rookie like Hughes did marvellous for Blackburn and a similar appointment may well be the way to go.

I think that Shearer would be great with Newell as his number 2 - they were mates at Blackburn and Newell has the management experience. However, I do feel that Ince has done great at MK Dons and Macclesfield, too. No to Maclaren or Allerdice, please!
