The Hughes love affair is over

Of the news that Hughes has asked permission to talk to City, considering about how he has previously said how happy he was at a club with stability like Rovers, i'm greatly saddened. He won't be accepted back now by the fans. I want him to leave, as he clearly doesn't want us anymore. It's sad that this will have a knockon effect with regard to players, but Williams is a good chairman and will find just an as good if not better replacement i'm sure. If Hughes is at City, I bloody well hope we beat em both home and away next season, knocking them out of a cup would be nice too. Right now, I feel gutted, but we'll all get over it, i'm sure. Get lost Hughes, we don't want you anymore!

Look guys, lets get one thing straight. We don't know the REAL reason why Sven was sacked and probably never will.

Lets not assume that the chairman sacked him and is out of order etc, there MIGHT be just a bit more to it than that!!

As for Mark Hughes, I think this shows the clubs ambition.

We needed a young British manager in my opinion and am delighted with the appointment. I really do get the feeling he will do well for us.

We will certainly be more difficult to beat and if he can bring Bentley and Santa Cruz with him, amongst others, then even better.

Rubbish.

Mark Hughes.
Ambition.

He has done nothing as a manager and will not do any better than Sven.

Hughes will be a disaster for Man C, you read it here first.

I would thanks Hughes for his excellent work at Blackburn, but hope that his career takes a severe nosedive at Manchester City.

Clubs like Blackburn don't want to be stepping stones for careerists.

Hughes is a good manager. I just hope he doesnt end up like Big Sam who thought he was making a big step up when he moved to Newcastle but was fired after a few games. Shinawatra has shown that he is not afraid to wield the axe and Hughes must perform from game one.

city have done well to land sparky.

blackburn will do well not to get relegated next season smiley

coleman or allardyce would do well for blackburn, if blackburn sign either of them. they would probably place mid table.

Great research by the BBC

"The purchases of Roque Santa Cruz (£3.8m), Christopher Samba (free) and Morten Gamst Pederson (£1.5m) highlight Hughes's eye for talent on a strict budget."

Er, Pedersen was signed by Souness...
