Dammit!

International Scotland
comment on the article

Switched off at 2-0 and missed Clarkson's goal! Gutted!

I reckon we did ok, but the turning point was the decision to take of McManus. Easily our best defender and defeat was on the cards from then on, he would've dived in to block that first Czech goal and then who knows.

Still, not a bad performance and i think we've found a rising star in Morrison!

Basaliskll, Yea my favourite player is Messi, but Rangers and Barcalona, their not exactly rivals like United and Liverpool. That is like a Rangers fan saying his favourite player is Borac. If the Glasgow sides had english prem money, in a few years they would start to challenge. they already have huge stadiums which is what every team wants these days to generate extra cash. Rangers had 200,000 fans in Manchester, as you live there you must have seen them. If the champions league was being held in Glasgow and United were in the final, they wouldn't take as many fans and thats a fact. Most United fans are armchair fans who don't even know what colour they play in.

----------------------

What difference does it make if they're rivals or not? Torres has never scored against United or done anything to disrespect them. Why should I dislike him? He's the best striker in the world, I just wish he played for United. Ask yourself, why do the Glasgow sides not have as much money? Fans generate money, so maybe they don't have as many fans...TV also generates money, but no one watches Scottish football outside of Scotland, so maybe Scottish football isn't very good...

Rangers brought 100,000 fans to Manchester, check your figures. And yes, I saw the mess they made of the place. Bloody thugs. And where did you read this alleged "fact" that Manchester United hypothetically wouldn't bring as many fans to a hypothetical UEFA Cup final in Glasgow? I think that may be your opinion rather than a fact...or maybe it's because Manchester United wouldn't be playing in the UEFA Cup final because they might be too busy winning the Champions League?

rangers and celtic are european class - one was in the last 16 of the champs league, the other reached the uefa cup final - and correct me if im wrong, but most of the world class teams come from europe dont they?

Zenit are a class team btw, they will be last 16 of the champs league next year if they improve the way they have. humping bayern munich 5-1 on agg in the semi-finals?

Scotland currently has the seventh best league in Europe (suggested)..... That's a joke. This is a league that has one of two teams (Old Firm) winning it every year for the past 22 years and likely for ever more!! Where is the opposition? Oh. I forgot. There is no opposition because there is little money for the other SPL teams to compete on a level playing field and then make it more interesting/competitive for everyone! As for the suggestion of the OF linking up with English fitba, does England really want to see that lot, with their sectarian bile, infecting an English league? We've seen what happened in Manchester with troublesome Gers fans (not the first time either - there's a whole history of misbehaviour going back decades!)
Re the Scotland result, the match changed when Burley altered the defence, second half, and took McManus off. Bringing on Dailly was a huge mistake. He has been a great player for Scotland but that time has gone. Most Scottish fans will easily acknowledge this fact based on observation. Still, this was only half a Scotland team - better players will return before the World Cup campaign begins.

i think we did well tonight, clarkson watta start for him and good touch an strike against the worlds 'best goalie' good for the scotland b team i should say? well if we had our strongest setup we wouldve given the czechs a good run for there money! i just hope we progress and maybe one day beat england at wembley!

if fifa put out this new rule rangers wont be affected too much as only like 4 foreign players at the most in the team!

Zenit would give any team a game. They totally RAVAGED Munich.

If they hang on to their players, they will give anyone a game in the Champions League next season. Watch this space.

And a Welshman, who supports Utd and his favourite player is a Liverpool player.

Seriously......

....what is that about? blush I'm ashamed for you big man!

As I have explained countless times, I was born in Wales, therefore am Welsh. I live in Manchester, however, so what's wrong with me supporting United? And anyone can admire any player regardless of who he plays for. By your logic I'd have to go around saying Thierry Henry was s$hit just because he played for Arsenal. It's a sucky argument

Just a quick reply to bjbean (U8032878) re the quality of the Scottish league.

If you look at the history of most leagues accross Europe I think you will find most are usually won every year by one of only 2 or 3 teams in that country...

England, Man U or Liverpool have won far far more leagues than any other team, yes?
Holland, Ajaz and PSV...
Greece, Panathanikos, AEK Athens
Turkey, Galatasery...
Germany, Munich, Leverkusen etc...
Italy, Milan, Inter, Roma... though admittedly this league is a bit more competative.

I could go on but I think you get the general idea...

Scotland is not really all that different to most other European leagues.

And I have to say that Celtic and Rangers are in general decent teams most of the time, but without the kind of money Premiership teams get they can never hope to compete at the top level... last 16 champs league is a good show I think.

Anyhoo, thats all.

Nuf said.

Who was the player (number 3) who dodged out of the way of the 2nd goal? Was really happy with the performance but i think Burley should of given Lee Wilkie a shot.

I disagree with everything you say Tonester_7.

You're points are weak and without any sound basis.

Decent.
